Never do this with enemies that go slow on flat ground, unless you know how any specific tank behaves, lots of tanks have a very soft suspension that let you shoot on the move if you go slow

Currently grinding through rank IV Japan and I completely fail to see the reason to ever spawn the Type 61. If I want firepower, I just spawn the STA-3. If I want better mobility, I spawn the STA-1. With the Type 61 you get a smoke launcher, but you get the shit 8 kph reverse, massive cupola - so much worse for ratting than the 1 or 2s longer reload compared to 3 - it just never seems worth it.

Swedes don't have a great choice for a top tier premium, but you can make the Saab J35XS or the JA37DI F21 work with practice. The F-5 is good so you could use that and put a talisman on it but then it still wouldn't make you loads of SL like proper premiums would. I say continue with Bongs since you've got that far but look into either getting the premium phantom or mig21. Top tier Britain is ok now but was bad in the past, you get the grippen, eurofighter and some harriers/tornados if you want good options for 12.0-13.0 games.

I own both and though much better on paper in reality it doesn't really work out that way, the missiles are much better but you can only take half as many, bombing bases isn't really an option in the MiG. Neither plane can dogfight really so that's a draw. You can speed along in the Phantom and your 4 skyflashes allow you to get stuck into the merge and enage 4 targets in head ons, the Mig can only really do that with 2 then you need to back off and find somewhere else to go or rearm, and if you need to go back to base to rearm chances are by the time you've done that the match will be over. Bascially the Phantom gives you a lot more options to earn RP than the MiG, you can take a full loadout of missiles, bombs and a gunpod with 1000 rounds so you can shoot down enemies, bomb a base and also ground pound. I expect gayjin realized people were earning too much playing it and removed it for this reason.

The Bison on the other hands has the early MiG-29's deserved loadout except it trades two of the R-73s for better avionics and trades flight performance (compared to a hypothetical ungimped MiG-29, as it stands the two are basically equally bad at dogfighting) for a lower BR. I think you seriously overestimate the abilities of an average 12.0 player. It is true that the gun pod is a heavy piece of shit, as are the wings and the comparison to the F-4S are all true but in reality that extra weight very rarely makes any difference in the chaos of the initial merge and what's more important for earning RP each match is the amount of ordinance you can carry. Since the Phantom isn't going to outturn anyone it doesn't really make much difference if you bring 4 1000lb bombs, quite often you'll find if get to the enemy bases there will be one that's been missed by a teammate and you can put the bombs to use and make some extra RP. Peronally I like to take 4 skyflashes, 4 9Gs and the gun pod. It's been the vehicle I've used to make the most SL and RP in the entire game.

Once you get used to mcnigging rounds with your barrel it's rather easy. Don't make big sweeps and always keep your tracks moving. The code in this game doesn't know how to handle movement.
