I quit because I felt I was working 10 times harder with the godwood + roach setups than the board wipe spamming rune/sword/portal apes I faced

Former Kash player here, not the same anon, but I wanna say the problem with Kashtira isn't it's boss monster or it's individual monsters, it's the ability to consistently make the same floodgate end board that sits on your opponents waifu like a chair that's the problem. Kash isn't nearly what it used to be but all it's cards are still legal, showing that reduced consistency did actually hurt the decks powerlevel. 2 Fenrir is strong for a different reason, decks used that combo as a free summon that searched the same free summon, and 1 Unicorn + 1 Wraitsoth is the same as 2 Unicorn but more fragile. All the same, Fenrir should stay at one if it wants to be fairly designed. Unicorn could also go to 1, but only because Kashtira can be used a small engine for other decks and that shit sucks. It can't be pure Kash because pure isn't consistent, but it shouldn't be so strong as an engine that it works as generic deck support.

Well the meta is always retarded when new archetypes are released. The game is always dying whenever it's convenient, and tier 1 decks have been "killing" the game since late '00s.
It's not that the game sucks right now, it's always gonna suck because like most card games, it has to make money, and the best way to do that is power creep. You just gotta adapt to the new bullshit every so often, change up what you know, try to play around specific instances.

That's just the EOMM kicking in and forcing you to lose so you'll be more likely to play more, and therefore more likely to spend money. After a while you realize that most losses are rigged shuffles, or cheating chinks, and that you can easily get to Master 1 by just playing long enough. Streamers don't make it look nearly as simple as it is, and people tend to get complacent in "good enough" ranks that they don't seek master 1.
I myself used to go Master 1 every season but I prefer staying in gold/plat anymore because I just like playing my pet decks that have royals that would never work against competent deck building.

Playing Maliss, I see Lancea in about 1/3 of my games.
Though that doesn't necessarily contradicts your post completely.
Because what if more people are using Lancea than people playing Maliss? Because since even Maliss itself also plays Lancea, it isn't wrong to assume it's usage is very high.
So, Maliss players 1/3 of the time are matched with people who have Lancea in their opening hand, and people who have Lancea in their decks have a low chance of getting paired with someone playing Maliss.

He's banned because he's from the days where combos weren't pre-packaged linear things with distinct starters and extenders, and were instead a smattering of cards you used to extend like crazy when you got lucky and had proper setup.
He was an Instant Fusion target that could revive another body from the GY. Back then getting 2 bodies off of one spell was crazy. Also he's not once per turn so decks would loop him.

Today that doesn't really matter. Decks don't need to loop some fusion that is just monster reborn to put up a good board.
What does matter is that he's a busted super poly target. Removing any two synchros or xyz monsters or one of each shuts down 90% of decks other thank link and fusion decks. We already have some great super poly targets but even Garura and Mud Dragon leave you without super poly being extremely reliable, and adding more in there pushes it over the edge. Also his effect is still actually pretty decent since it can revive whatever you discarded with super poly for more material on board, even just to make SP to further break their board.

Which were pretty bad then and worse now I imagine.

There are a lot of decks that are varying levels of good that just never see the play they deserve for one reason or another. Maybe it came out in paper at the same time as something that overshadowed the whole game, maybe it had a terrible first wave and nobody updated their idea of the deck after the second wave saved it, maybe it was rogue viable but nobody was willing to prove it, etc.
As for Pure Melodius, I don't know. I'd guess that in part it got overshadowed by its use as an engine which colors peoples perceptions of the deck as just being slop that's not quite good enough compared to other slop.

Vaalmonica doesn't have to do elaborate pendulum combos. It just specials level 4s when it gets its scales up. Vaalmonica is weird. Look up a few combos to learn it. The combos aren't hard or long, but the cards are weird so it's hard to figure out how you're supposed to use them just from reading them.
It's best with Fiendsmith since it has an archetypal light fiend so can extend into it easily, and can use Tract to search Dimonno.

The deck has actual locks and restrictions, you can't add fiendsmith to it because you need to control only fairies to search the fusion spell. You can't use some other engine and then use ostinato because it needs you to control no monsters. You can only pendulum summon LIGHT. The extender and the link have that shitty turn-wide lock that doesn't let you slop it up and then summon them. Some people don't even run fucking ash blosom because it turns off the orange herald. Basically it doesn't see a lot of play because it's too honest.

Book of Moon and Eclipse since you can use them to dodge imperm/veiler and still contact fuse, and also they combo with Dancing Leaves. Karma Cannon because Ninjas aren't good enough to build "fairly" to maximize consistency and need blowout cards to make sure that they actually win when they go first.
Unless you want to play a warriorslop deck that has some ninjas in it you won't find much that actually synergizes well with them. The way they work you want to maximize your odds of opening two card combos since you won't be finding Hanzo every game.

For one thing, Prediction Princess is a lvl 9 ritual deck. Mimighouls are a rank 1 deck. Good luck tributing 9 levels worth of Mimighouls. On top of that, Prediction Princess mainly sets from deck flip monsters then flips them. Mimighoul's whole gimmick is that it has mandatory negative flip effects that you force your opponent to use.
If there were a way to get Tarotrei on a Mimighoul endboard, then that'd be nice, but they really don't need help flipping the stuff you give to the opponent. If you need an extra flip up it'd be a million times easier to make Embodiment of Crime/Punishment or Ripple Bird when that releases.
And if you're reaching that point with Prediction Princess then you don't need Mimighouls to back you up, because Prediction Princess when it doesn't brick/get hand trapped/go second will set up Guard Dog+Whirlwind Weasel on the opponent's turn, and that will win you the game on the spot.

It's not even like it's that crazy difficult to pull off, it's just that if you can only pull it off 30% of the time and you're probably losing 95% of the games where you don't, then that's still terrible. That's really really bad. You won't be able to climb and it's not fun to lose 7/10 games.
That's the thing about Master Duel though. It'd be dumb to invest resources into something like this where you'll play it for one session, laugh about the times you get people to surrender to you BS, then shelve it because it's not actually fun to play for a long time. Better to build a slightly competitive petdeck or a rogue deck instead.

It was fun to play in the ritual event though because that was super low powered, and they banned guard dog+weasel so it was mostly Pot of the Forbidden control backed up by Deus X Krawler.

Also Mimighoul CAN be used for generic flip shenanigans if you really want. Maker searches/gives any flip monster in the game, and there are dumb combos that will let you give them Fire Sorcerer or use Geonator to trade it to them.

There's always the chance that it's like Nemurelia where it just uses pend scale mechanics without being a full pend deck. There's no reason adding an extra spell effect to monsters makes decks bad.
Given that the card they showed off was a giant space ship looking thing, I'm going to bet the gimmick is about their ships moving from pend scale to field(face down) like a ship descending from space. If they're based it'll actually pendulum summon but only be able to pend summon face down.

I liked the gearframe build more as using the union effect from regulus is kino, and gear gigant x can add box or unclaspare from GY to trigger the cards in hand.

Can be paired with spright or the adventure engine as you normally just link off the monster into meow meow mu. No archetype locks (in TCG you could hard make toad).

A very consistent strategy, can be linear at times, but there are ways to recycle resources each turn. Deck cannot do much under the roach or fuwa however.

it's one of the weaknesses of the deck but from personal experience I've found that it's not as bad as people claim since the deck doesn't special summon and doesn't really care about a lot of the negation actions people try to do, Master Peace + Skill Drain can slowly pop a field regardless of numbers
