Hot take: but ES relics shouldn't be good, they should be unique, have weird effects that aren't necessarily the best, but change up how you play your character

after all, if you can beat them, you're already about as good at the game as you could be and don't need better relics to succeed

It's a bit similar to how Heolstor's relic works, people complained it wasn't some giga stat bonus thing, but at that time, if you could beat him, that meant your relics were already more than enough to beat anything in the game

Powerstance Raider, L1 and jump attack are way better than his uniques
Wylder depends on what drops, but if sticking to greatsword either powerstance or 1h. Dislike 2h gs moveset in most cases, adds almost no damage for the added stamina cost and throws out the offhand buckler parry or other utility weapon. That and I've been messing with Heolstor relic on him lately and fuck adding 2h to the 10 second weapon swap cycle.

Playing Executor is so fun. Your starting weapon can proc bleed by default, most katanas can also proc bleed. Add a relic and you can proc poison too, add another relic and you have chilling mist on starting weapon, so now you can proc bleed, frost and poison with just 1 weapon.

Every time I proc poison, or one of my teammates procs poison or rot close to me, I get a damage buff. Every time I proc frost I turn fucking invisible.

Found Mogh's trident? Keep it in your left hand, now you get a damage buff every time you proc bleed. Lord of Blood talisman? That's another damage buff per proc.

If you're running seppuku instead of chilling mist, you can proc blood loss on yourself and it procs all the damage buffs you're stacking, as well as the buff from his passive every time you proc a status effect on yourself.

The enemy is immune to procs from most status effects? If you're lucky you'll find a weapon with rot so you can proc them with even stronger poison. If you're even more lucky, you'll get the passive that gives you health recovery every time you proc poison/rot.

The different status effects you can proc as well as the synergy between weapons/passives that activate whenever you proc a status makes the character extremely satisfying to play.

imo the best way to play duchess is with the character skill 50% to 60%, the mega FP relic from the signboard shop( 3+ staff and rise), and evergaol boost. Anything extra is preference.
This lets you have a ton of FP for casting or L2 spamming, and the character skill boost and evergaol boost just amplify whatever you do.
She's the most build-flexible character in the game(only thing she's truly bad at is STR weapons), limiting yourself to being good at just 1 specific thing is a massive waste of her stat spread + restage being good at amplifying anything.

I don't really run specifically for gaols, but you will hit ~2 on the way in just about every game. That alone is 10% attack power, already very much worth it. And if you or your teammates want to tryhard you can get up to 25% or so, which is just an overkill.
