Learn to pick your fights, don't hesitate to run away and don't reload unless you die, any fight you survive makes you stronger. Building an outpost will attract trader caravans and hostile raids. Building one too early might be more than you can handle. Pressing F1 will open the tutorial screen. Mousing over the stats screen and HUD will reveal useful tooltips and additional info. If the enemies feel too difficult - get crossbows for your units. And don't be afraid of the RP autism - engage in it whenever you can. And do unlock the sliders.

There are no worthwhile modders left in this community. People allowed the heart of the community to be ran by rotten clout chasers. The old guard no longer want an update to the status quo and would prefer nothing new come out. Kenshi modding has been gatekept into oblivion. The Japs stopped translating their guides because there's no point in sharing when it all goes to die behind the useless walled gardens of the NA/EU sphere of the community.

Games like Skyrim and Rimworld continue to be modded ad infinitum year on year. There hasn't been a notable happening in the Kenshi community since the devs announced they were done touching the first game.

Withe out mods the nests and camps don't respawn unless the game is imported, certain civilians like merchants might not respawn (this is probably not intentional as it is rather inconsistent). The roaming squads and player base raids will continue to spawn and fruitlessly throw themself at the player until a world trigger makes them stop

1) the milking can be set in automode, donuts can find their way to the milking stations
2) the donuts don't understand how to haul milk from the milking stations to the storage boxes
3) the donuts on the cooking duty do not pick the milk neither from the stations nor from the boxes

I had a similar issue of donuts not hauling milk or cheese until I manually put at least one item in the offending building reloadin/importing might help. Not quite sure why this happens all the items are copies of existing items so there shouldn't be any hidden flags to set

I use other mods that add new raw and cooked food items. They work properly from the start. It's weird how this specific pair of mods don't work properly. Once I import the game - I'll report how it works then. Right now I don't want to reset the population of bandits nearby.

That seems to be the crux of the matter when it came to the Skeleton rebellion. Cat-Lon had no belief humans could be left to their own devices. They'd grow, spread, kill each other and do everything again which caused this fate. It's Iyo's faction of humanists who believes they can blend into the world and guide it by a hidden hand. Kenshi 1 shows us precisely how dead wrong that conviction was. Fabricate a religion which degrades into tyranny. Cast out the undesirables only to have them persist and become the rival dominant polity, consumed by the worst excesses of humanity. So bad Tinfist had to come out of retirement to hopelessly try to "correct" for its brutalities. Naturally, Skeletons haven't a damn clue and refuse to learn from their repeated mistakes. The only Skeleton who figured it out is the old crazy emperor. Sit in exile, wait for judgement, it's too late to help and the humans aren't seek it out anyways. That's why Griffin was/is supposed to venture into the Ashlands and confront the old emperor. That's the only living Skeleton who will tell him the truth about the First Extinction.

The gaming community could not handle true movement shooters. Quakes and Tribes were rejected because the barrier to entry and potential skill ceiling was so high that most were filtered out. Battle royales were the total antithesis of this. Fast paced teamplay and 1v1 was replaced with random royales and goofy hero arenas. TF2 was the turning point from a showing of mechanical skill to gimmicky arcade experiences. There hasn't been a good FPS in who the hell knows how long. Titanfall was mercy killed before it could become memorable and all the kiddies are left with the third person apocalypse brought on by PUBG & Fortnite. Bad time to have an FPS itch.

It's less dynamic than it appears for the most part. For example a trader in the Slaver town near the swamps got hurt and the idiot NPC's let him lay unconscious for hours until some wild spider ate him and from that point on I could never trade again in that town because a new trader never respawned or anyrhing.

Worst part is that I couldn't move him to a bed or something because it would count as kidnapping and the Samurai would kill me. But on the same town there would be constant swamp ninja raids. So I guess raid NPCs spawn but functional NPCs don't

The HN leaves us notes at the Hub to give us an indication how screwy things have become. The Shek are treated as these shadowy magical beasts who operate under the guidance of Narko herself. Something has gone wrong with the HN's foreign policy and the Guild appear to be quite tuned in to how it's unfolding. Already bandits and beggars roam the southeast. The hordes of fogmen are kept watch over in the west. The Shek linger out of view but ever as a possible threat. Likewise, Moll operates in secrecy in the northwest whilst the nearby war front if Bast drags on and on. If the HN doesn't sort out its priorities they're going to wake up with slavers on their doorsteps, no military to drive them off with and no sense of how it all went so wrong. Sleepwalking into a full spectrum disaster scenario.

Either, south just means a trek through the swamps and I might not outrun those spiders like I can the ones in the Deadlands on account of the water. From initial scouting I like Bark, Stoat, Catun, and Clownsteady, though Clownsteady is so cramped it feels like a model village and Catun is in an unkind zone.

Karl entered a cage at the start that was too high level for him to lockpick so he has done nothing this entire time.
Lia however has been working on her lockpicking this whole time and intends to free Karl at some point.
Meanwhile it appears one of the slaver guards was enslaved and then ascended beyond slavery to become what looks like a fighting game character.

Everything is in place for the dogo mod the only problem is to get the Rebirth dogs to consistently attack only escaping slaves, the issue seems to be that dogs are animals and animal can't do human things like respond to criminal behavior or raising alarms so they won't attack the slaves until one of the guards sees them at witch point the dogs will gleefully rip their arms and legs of, this is all because escaping slaves are not enemies of the Holy Nation it self they are neutrals committing a crime so until a guard notices the slaves and aggro the dogs are happy to let the slaves wander about Rebirth. There is a way to fix this kind of by enabling the dogs to attack neutrals unprovoked and its interesting how much more dangerous this makes Rebirth to an escaping slave if a dog decides to chew on one of the slave they will most likely bleed out before any of the paladins notice especially at night but this fix has a down side the dos will attack any neutral that they see even none slaves. I think I might just leave the dogs attacking every one Rebirth is after all the equivalent of a super max prison and it is surprising they even let none allies in there at all.

Have you tried attaching the dogs to a squad with a human leader? If the leader can channel dialogue interjections in response to the doggo's confirmation of an action (I_SEE_ESCAPING_SLAVE) - the leader can be used as a kind of pass-fail on activating the dogs. You could write parallel "waiting" dialogue for the dogs - awaiting a command from the leader to attack. Something like that. Always keep in mind that the developers only scratched the surface on dialogue - there's a lot of possibilities if you put in some effort.

Not sure what you mean. Seems like this mod nerfed mining a bit by making the mineral chunks bigger in your inventory but otherwise they are the same as vanilla.

starving bandit packs are a great source of toughness and absolute bare-bone combat skills, once they stop giving you good returns you move up to dust bandits until they stop giving good returns and so on. Have one person sprint into the bandits and draw aggro while a second hangs way back to sprint in and heal them up if they take too much damage. Always get up from playing dead until your character physically can't, it'll spike your toughness up massively. You can find both groups in the border zone, but skimmers roam has some massive starving bandit spawns, so I'd start in there.

Just make sure to import all the game stuff using the vanilla skeleton so you keep the original weights, otherwise you are going to have to also experience the the headaches of weight painting. Looks fine, you just need to resize the vanilla parts a bit so they dont clip with the other parts. To do it right you are also going to have to make a female clothes mesh version. The female skeleton has some pretty minor differences in weights so its a bit harder to just reuse the male assets for it.

I'll be honest, I've never modded, used blender or meshes or anything like that in my life so I'm just fumbling my way through this. I've gotten as far as making it a recognised mesh so far, but it doesn't show up on the characters and instead shits a massive graphical smear across the screen. Played the fuck outta the HN run, founded "Cranst" at the mouth of the river Wend, which I understand is a popular spot. After stumbling a bit (I built three windmills immediately, but my mining equipment still says it's unpowered) and having to manually make my own building supplies and iron plates, almost running out of money and running out of food several times (Blister Hill is right around the corner, but still) and finally getting a good supply up and running, I was assailed by river raptors and won. The goddamn Black Dragon Ninjas were a different matter, since I didn't have my gate repaired yet. Luckily I can evac out the back into Wend and there's no food for them to take, and if I'm lucky a roving band of Paladins will simply solve the banditry because that's their job. They're gone now, but I dread their retueny.
Unfortunately the settlement building does that Fallout 4 thing where everything is fiddly and difficult for no reason, the walls aren't exactly where I want them but I'd rather have them up and working than futz with them and fuck em up. I bought a dog, who does nothing, but every good farm needs a dog ot two.
Prayer Day isn't even a huge hassle, I'll have some dingus engineer stay here while the crusade is out. The game gives you a lot of opportunities to fuck up Prayer Day, not sure why.

The crew has spent some time in Heft and picked up a massive Shek to join the squad as a ranger. He is very enamored with his own thighs.
The crew has also picked up a few new weapons and armor pieces after selling off some tech salvage and is ready to head out again before someone here realizes Lia has a bounty on her head.

you can just use the FCS to open up a save, find your char and give them 500 in every stat if you physically can't be fucked to grind (very fair, I normally edit new recruits to have at least 15-20 in their basic stats). Just open the FCS, select "open any", then the save you want to change then find your platoon (normally "nameless_0") and then scroll down to your char.

The crew has arrived at Gut. Chad is prepared to start poaching again, being the fastest man in the squad.
The rest of the crew will wait in cover and hope they don't have to get in a fight with beak things.
Being back here has also made me think, they do have a goal. Get strong enough to wipe out the slave camp Karl and Lia started in.

Chad fucked off to Heng to look for a better beg that won't slow him down like his current one does and was unsuccessful. The capacity of his current one is just too good. Night falls soon and it will be time to poach. He has already scouted the motherload.
Also holy fuck the number of people here.

Chad worked through the night and successfully poached 23 eggs. 20 of them he went undetected and the other 3 he took a couple hits before the beak things gave up chasing him.

Day 55
A group of manhunters decided to try the squad while they were crossing the skimsands.
We've been beaten down by multiple encounters with skimmers but they were ultimately badly outnumbered.
Also Brooke. Brooke is brutal in melee and she's not even full size. Her and Turtle are keeping watch while the gang rests and the disarmed manhunters bleed out in the sand.

Day 57
The gang is moving to a town to recover after a brutal fight in the Skimsands
Notably, Brooke ran off in the middle of the fight and it soon became apparent why. Lia is now down a leg.
Unable to walk, Karl has taken the leader role from her.

We've been stranded here trying to recover only to get ganked by every gorillo and group of landbats that walks past
Fortunately they don't eat living things so we just get bodied then have to heal over and over.
Should really move out before they completely bleed us of all our medical supplies.
Also, Lia has lost both her legs now and Griffin is now down an arm. Lia can walk since we got some legs off a passing trader.

Re-did the hive exile playthrough because I was about to have a fit at literally every hiver I saw being a fucking prince and we're off to a good start - two lost drones and a soldier drone from the bar. Been scavenging Bast to get them some good gear and enjoying the local entertainment. We'll be heading back to the Border Zone by passing through the Great Desert, down through the Deadlands and finally a quick jaunt across Skinner's Roam so the three new recruits can get their shit kicked in by the local bandits. After they're up to speed we're gonna comb the bars some more to find more soldiers and workers to repeat the process then set up shop somewhere we can ideally rescue other unlucky drones before they get eaten or enslaved.

I don't know if you have a mod that tweaks the spawn chance of hives or not but vanilla dose not spawn soldiers on its own you can use the following quick fix it makes every instance of a vanilla prince recruit spawning a 50/50 chance of being a soldier instead

yeah I noticed while snooping in FCS that there's just no soldier drone spawns outside of Ray and maybe a few others some time ago, so I changed the hiver sword for hire recruit types to be majority soldier drones and installed the Adventurer Guild mod so I can express deliveries of more hivers. The crew arrived a ways outside the Dust King's bandit town and made camp.
It's hard to see but Brooke went ahead alone and killed some 30 entrenched dust bandits before returning to camp for medical attention and a nap only to go back to finish the job. She hasn't encountered the Dust King yet and will have to pull out if her blood gets too low but GOD DAMN

The Dawn of Day 66
The crew has taken custody of the Dust King which proved a laughable challenge what with Brooke nearly cleaning out the town alone.
Our brave leader Karl was the only to go down in the fight to apprehend him.

Day 67
Dust Bandits ambushed the squad while Chad was lagging behind with the Dust King.
Chad was downed and now the Dust King is making a run for it.
Unfortunately for him, Brooke exists and currently has a top speed of 30 mph.

There are gachas that can tell an entire book's worth of story in 2-3 gaming hours. And then there is Honkai Star Rail that takes 8 hours to tell a chapter's worth of story.

It is possible to just put the story on auto-mod, and play Kenshi at the same time - there is nothing to look at anyway. Someone in MHY is being a nepo baby with the writing. The other gachas try their best to write cool stories - WuWa is trying to put kino content, for instance. But not Star Rail. A shame, it was a fun enough game two years ago.

The crew is crossing the Skimsands again

Considering how much shop Brooke wrecked vs the Dust King's town I feel hopeful but these guys are a bit better equipped than they were but also I feel they may be less numerous.

Day 76
Brooke did her job and mauled most of the defenders on turrets and the front gate guards.
Unfortunately she was KO'd by bloodloss, forcing the rest of the squad to rush the slaver encampment.
Karl and Lia's retribution on the slavers is now properly underway.

Day 77
The crew has pulled out of the town after putting it to siege for nearly a full day. They're too wounded to continue and must rest for now.
The guards around the nobleman who runs this town are very, very strong. So much so that one of them can tank Brooke's otherwise limb obliterating attacks.
Seth and Turtle were both imprisoned in the chaos but Seth managed to break himself out and Lia went back for Turtle once she was able to run.
Lia also freed a number of slaves who unfortunately will most likely perish in the ongoing siege.

Bittersweet moment, this city was the first one were I bought properties, I made a small fortune here mining copper and selling it. Here I recruited Griffin, the stoic Okran Paladin.
Griffin then would lose a limb trying to "protect" his new friends while fighting the Fog Hivers, only to be shunned and left for dead by his old okranite friends

polearms are the most op. the desert sabre is pretty great but the [heavy] polearm just rapes everything in a 3 meter radius. i think the standard polearm is actually better than the heavy but the heavy has a lower strength requirement, counterintuitively. it's too bad i find polearms kind of boring compared to other weapon classes like heavy. the most entertaining weapon class is also the most worthless. bonks should be stronger or at least have lower strength requirements.

The crew has stopped a safe distance outside of Brink.
The entire crew, short of Beep, is now wanted by the United Cities for the assault on the Eyesocket slaver settlement.
For reasons unknown, Beep did not participate enough to garner a bounty, perhaps because he is by far the most nonthreatening member of this squad.
Thus, Beep has been nominated to go into town for supplies and sell off our tech salvage.

And then Beep returned, having accomplished little, as even getting close to the town will aggro a Slave Trader and then the rest of the city will protect them.
I think we're looking at a long hike back to Shek territory.

Yeah, there are heavy mods. But remember that vanilla Kenshi also has a lot of bought\stolen assets that have 6 brazzillion verticals and whatnot, while the assets look like muddy water. Ironically, if Kenshi was unmoddable - it'd be dead by mid 2020. Mods are the lifeblood of Kenshi.

The crew made a stop in Flats Lagoon to resupply. Scooped up a new pleb, Eris.
She has absolutely no skills and was wearing nothing but rags. Had her get some gear from the local shops and then grab Backpack for some strength training.
