Depends on the team composition. Bad players need the toughness crutch, and a good chorus zealot will carry a team of retards contrary to what said retards will tell you in this very thread.
Chorus zealot + stealth zealot is strong together.
Veteran's piss vision is an actually insane damage boost, but it obviously demands that your team play around it. Think of it as gun psyker but actually good in havoc.

In general, golden toughness is easier and better than any alternatives, but it's neither trolling nor explicitly necessary.
Unless you haven't even reached havoc 40 yet, in which case you have no idea what you're doing by default, and are definitely trolling if you don't.

Tried Darktide in beta and felt it was a downgrade to VT2 in most areas.

Martyr RB Zealot actually has some good defenses. Try running it like this (you can put the last point in Enduring Faith if you want, but crits are going to be so scarce, that I don't run it and just dump the last point elsewhere. Also, Martyr does give toughness DR itself, so EF loses some value with it). The MK X Relic Blade does a lot of heavy attacking, so Vicious Offering is a big grab. I think people overlook the talent because of how mid disdain and EWEW are, but there's not much else you need for Martyr.

Anything in the hands of Beetus is nuts. I've been addicted to Tac Axe Arbites whenever I play the class, and I look forward to seeing EO get fixed so I can run it in an even more cracked state. Relic Blade might actually be one with less of a difference since it does great damage while powered, but Beetus has nothing to affect its power CD or prolong its empowered state. Although if it could bring the unpowered stuff up to a similar power as base powered state, that WOULD be fucking disgusting.

Yeah i like to pair martyr with a weapons that have shred and i struggle to imagine a critless martyr build being terribly effective

Ideally you'll get a zealot rework that includes a branch that offers simple survivability in a style of the arbites as well as a branch that offers crit based survivability like the current one that zealots have.
You could pick either one, but going deep into both would be costly in terms of talent points

Same. Missing FOTF spam hurts a lot, and Martyr isn't good enough to genuinely make it worth the trade on most weapons. I still just run BP RB most of the time I take it out. That said, non-crit Martyr works out fine with RB. I've never had trouble cleaning house with Martyr RB, and being a weapon that benefits from Vicious Offering, you do have plenty of toughness regen to sustain yourself without having FOTF spam.

I have significant experience with using shred on the rashad and it is certainly no worse than headtaker, with the crit synergies and duellist i'd even say that it is better than headtaker in terms of damage output. The problem is just that shred stacks drop if you miss, so you need to get very accurate with your attacks and block cancel certain attacks before they miss

I hate it with TH. BP for more FOTFs giving AOE stagger for safer special hits and the attack speed buff is what I usually do now. You get Crusher and Mauler 1-hits without the IJ damage, so I don't see too much value in it comparatively.

They're usable. What anon said about the un-activated damage is correct. That said, I disagree with the sentence that followed it. Anyway, on top of their lights and heavies being less-than-stellar, their special activation and post-hit recovery animations take a lot of time and create a vulnerability period (especially the post-hit one that heavily slows you) that really fucks you over in high-density. It can be extremely scary to use in rot armor STG because of that. It doesn't need much. Making the activation and recovery animations faster and less dangerous respectively while giving a slight bump to cleave would be enough to make it a strong A-tier weapon.

The crusher can only be used by the strongest melee human classes and yet it's movement feels terrible when compared to more recent weapons. Even ogryn weapons launch you forward and have decent slide and sprint windows, but tap sprint with the crusher or try to mantain forward momentum with side slides and you'll see that they need to improve its mobility. Preventing sprint attack cancelation and improving rending slightly would completely fix it btw

I want the slab shield light attacks to get buffs. I developed very good movement tech for the shield before the ogryn rework and even back then it was much better at maintaining momentum while attacking than the crusher currently is

Yes, but my point is that it's significantly easier to get a few good hits in than it is to stick to the monster like glue and shit on its face (Burgle excluded).
Interruptions are possible, but there is stuff you can do to avoid/minimize them. Whether it's my own or someone else's, I've never had a Rashad, Eviscerator, or Arbites Maul kill a monster as quickly as a TH regularly does in an actual game.

You can replicate a test for this scenario with a thrust and crunch branx pickaxe. You'll get the same dps whether you charge up big attacks or spam alternating heavy and light attacks and the certainty and safety of faster attacks always fucking beats the big charged up attacks even though they are more satisfying

NTA but it's not quite that black and white. Big charged attacks can provide some safety in their own right, because it opens up your positioning a lot while charging. While there is of course equal risk to the reliability of your attack when you get knocked around, you might also not always get enough room to wail on the enemy because there's fire in the way, or annoying knockback effects are happening while you're close. This obviously depends heavily on the weapon's mobility WHILE charging the attack.
I do mostly agree when it comes to thammer being extremely awkward to use without FotF, or branx thrust being unusable without uninterruptible (and even then being awkward), but thrust dueling sword is an example where this is actually pretty good. I haven't tested this in a while, but I'm pretty sure charging Thrust to exactly 1 stack before releasing nets you the most theoretical DPS, while practical DPS goes up a decent bit just due to the fact that you'll regularly hold your heavy while dodging backwards and/or waiting for a head to click. Other blessings are still better, but you can't really beat thrust when it comes to stealth zealot in particular.

I have significant amounts of experience with slow and big hits vs fast and safe hits and the only benefit that slow hits have are the satisfaction of seeing the damage impact of each hit
Of course, there are certain builds such as the martyr + shroud + thunder hammer build which can practically 1shot a monster

I'm probably the biggest Cyber-Mastiff enjoyer in this general, and used to be a huge proponent of Razor-Jaw Augment, but I think I'm dropping it for good.
On the one hand, I do still think dog bleed is strong, and that it goes extremely well with bolt pistol. I'll definitely see about going back to it, if/when fagshart fucking fixes Execution Order, but it looks like my prediction of them doing it on the last Friday of the month still holds up.
On the other hand, No Escape sucks ass so it's taxed for 2 points, AND it loses out on Hammer of Judgment which is actually a pretty good node. I also think the Exaction III shotgun is better than bolt pistol, when taking both cleave nodes in the bottom right.

25% DR (that also applies to health!) is definitely felt more, than the slight loss in dog DPS. It does take noticeably longer to kill things (without EO, but I won't touch that shit until it's fixed), but it still kills every relevant target fast enough to matter. I only need it to kill run enders anyway, and gaining DPS AND survivability elsewhere seems a worthwhile tradeoff.

I've only played Lone Wolf with mines there because I do believe the mines to be stronger overall, but the sheer enemy density might(?) make the bleed aoe useful, and exploiting the doubled bleed on monstrosities matters a lot more when they have twice the health, and you can't justify using your shotgun for horde clear, so Puncture is back in the picture.

I believe in aurics, the VAG still reaches 2-shot headshot breakpoints on reapers, at least on veteran, and 1-shots every other relevant target.
You shouldn't be shooting carapace in the first place, and mag dumping should generally be avoided, even if it is sometimes useful.
If you use the boltgun in a way it's actually good and efficient (sniping specials), the VAG really isn't that much worse. Seriously, make an actual effort and give it a try, it's not as shit as it seems.

Your ogryn can get away with rarely, if ever, using ranged weapons except to kill snipers. But this will make dodging trappers annoying.
Zealot can go almost pure melee if you don't count throwing knives. You can just bring a bolter and only use that to magdump bosses with.
Arbitrator is better off meleeing most of the time, the only exception being Forceful cleave spam with the zap shotgun, and maybe some other niche shotgun or boltgun builds. You can just bring a bolt pistol to dome the occasional trapper or sniper.

For zealot and arby's especially, keep in mind that depending on your melee weapon choice, you might want to swap to bring a ranged weapon that runs fast and has good stamina, and swap to it just to run fast. Zealot's big weapons and arby's shield are notoriously bad at running, but both classes get ranged weapons that run good (las pistol, bolt pistol, combat shotguns)

My free solo dev project Hellbirther has 4-player local co-op that plays smoothly online through Parsec and shit. Player 1 is the walking tank on kb+m and any other players are drones that connect by pressing Start with any type of gamepad. Every mission and mode works with the co-op. It's quite fun from the little bit of experience I have with it, the co-op drone players can fire a machine gun or missiles or blow themselves up to do a lot of damage and then spawn in again by using up some of Player 1's supplies. Thunderhammers were fine until the upper difficulty started throwing a wall of 16 Bulwarks or Crushers at you at a time.

On difficulties where melee pressure extends to at most four heavily armored enemies, killing one with minimal effort every three seconds is great. In H40 and Auric Rotten Armor (which I'm almost positive is Fatshark's lazy attempt to test whether or no they should increase the armored unit cap in Auric to match that of high-level Havoc) it's dogshit and completely outcompeted by half a dozen other melee weapons, all of which provide better mobility than the Thammers. Instadropping a single Crusher when fifteen more are pushing your shit in is meaningless. With dogfucker stacking +180% damage per swing against Monstrosities, dogfucker actually has comparable clear times on bosses with Bolter, Rashad, Crusher, Shock Maul to the Zealot with Crucis + FotF + Martyrdom.

They're shit in the current meta, and you'd know this if you'd used them.

That's what I'm wondering about, because losing RJA means moving a point into a more useful node (10% attack speed virtually all the time) AND freeing up a node that can go into another good skill, like 25% damage resist. But that would depend on just how much damage the dog actually ends up dealing in havoc enemy density, and how relevant the stronger dog bleed actually is when applying it to monstrosities and ticking it up to max with Puncture.

True, but Rot Armor seems to just add the mass to normal Auric missions rather than replace stuff, so while I agree that letting the dog go for the armored elites will lose you bleed hits, there's still plenty of softer stuff for it to hit and knock over on landing. I honestly haven't paid much attention to dog's auto targeting, so if it defaults to limply throwing itself against Carapace or something without one of the AI-affecting nodes, then fair enough.

I'm not saying this is necessarily an amazing idea, however, Arbites (especially with Will of the Lex from Forceful, and especially if you run AV+CDR spec'd BTL which can give even more toughness than FotF) gets a ton of toughness regen, so much that even with EFL2 I feel fairly safe most of the time. You COULD keep H&J and instead try dropping Force of Will and taking Target Neutralized to connect Razor-Jaw while bypassing No Escape. In theory, I think you should be fine doing it. The dog is all kinds of fucked up in the code, like having a hidden +100% damage modifier or whatever it was, that leads to inaccurate scaling on +% dog damage nodes (making them much worse), and apparently dealing more bleed damage than it's supposed to. Is that intentional? Who knows! Fatshark is far too incompetent to even guess.

You're definitely gonna have a hard time fitting stuff then. I really do think you could stand to sacrifice some toughness regen/DR, and speaking from experience, you can sacrifice both CM and Imposing Force in Havoc 40 and be just fine, at least on Forceful builds. If you want Concussive, then you might as well just run the "good" keystone and take Suppression Protocols with it, which, while still good, is instead TDR with a worse activation method. Both Hold the Line and Forceful gives damage resistance, and True Grit is something too good when it's needed to pass up. Imposing Force is good, but it's not at all mandatory. Same with Canine Morale given the gorillion sources of toughness regen and DR.

It's a different story when they fix EO and you swap off Forceful, in which case revisiting Canine Morale and/or Imposing Force is much more of an important decision, but do remember that damage reduction stacks multiplicatively.

I think Razor Jaw is still a no-brainer pick for Dog, even after its fix+nerf, just because it's kind of bad in higher difficulties without both it and VM, and RJ in particular gives dog a little bit of natural AOE that helps keep its value up in higher enemy count settings. But to be honest with you, I feel better off running LW with regenerating grenades/mines than I do running dog anything, especially in Havoc. I mostly just take dog for fun and variety at this point. Not saying dog isn't viable because it is, but the other two blitzes are incredible.

The math on neither is good. Arbites auras are all kind of shit. Dog Aura coherency only matters if you're the last one up, and even then, it's not a big deal because Arby shits out so much toughness that you don't give a fuck about the coherency toughness at all. 7.5% toughness DR is essentially the defensive equivalent of 10% normal damage bonus. Either way works, but I prefer the damage with Forceful, and having Concussive for bosses is much more handy in Havoc where you'll generally see 2-3 up at one time at least once per game, and you'll need to down 1-2 of those quickly to stabilize.

Same, but I'd be more upset if Forceful was bad. At this point, I'm more annoyed about how long it's been taking them to rework Zealot's fucked up tree and give Vet a tune-up by reducing lateral movement penalty.

Oh, one thing I will say is that if/when you do start grinding Havoc, keep an eye out for teams where you'd be the sole beneficiery of grenade boxes, and bring a second build that's identical to what you run but runs mines or grenades instead. Remote Det is good, but well-used mines are game-saving, and frags (if kept in similarly constant supply) are better than Remote Det imhofam.

LW Shock Mines is what I have previously run in havoc, and I do believe shock mines to be superior (when you actually fucking use them correctly, unlike the average piggy I encounter) but the dog does have certain strengths in quickly grabbing disablers, or taking out difficult to reach snipers without any ammo cost.
I also don't think shock mines SHOULD even be necessary if the team is even remotely competent, and dog should be able to do a pretty good job with good players.

I play plenty of havoc, just not on arbitrator. 80% of applications are piggers and nobody wants to play with them. It's only now starting to slowly even back out with ogryns and veterans returning.
I agree on mines being extremely good even with dog build, but I'll have to see how much impact I can make with remote det when I do get around to running it in havoc. It's just been difficult to justify because I don't think arbitrator provides as much team stability to teams of retard randos, as a well-played psyker or zealot can, and even veteran just shooting shooters and spamming shout will at least provide piss crutch to the retards.

It's basically impossible to top pissers and infinite flamestaff shit. But Arby gets a lot of CC (less without LW obviously, but still good) and is a great frontline. It's also just more fun to melee on in Havoc than Zealot, which feels fairly fragile on FOTF builds (even before Arby existed and eschewed perception) and has only a single weapon I've thus far found satisfying in 40 besides the toothpick. And that's big enough to make me not care too much about the relative lack of stability because I mostly play this game to fucking melee things.

Always use them when someone goes down. Hypotheticals don't matter, someone takes a knee and you toss at least one near them, potentially two.
Use them to help do objectives. Plenty of piggies don't do even that.
Use them on choke points when fighting a boss. Not having random trash permanently surrounding you is actually a huge help. Same way that zealot's immolation grenades should be used in such cases.
DON'T just randomly spam them into dense hordes. If you see your zealot taking out his flamer, BTL to buy some room and then toss the mine, but there's no point just throwing your second mine into a horde. The only reason you spam them is to keep LW's grenade regen constantly going so you can get at least some value out of them.

Crucis does the Thammer job better than the Ironhelm. Both have dogshit mobility with ~12% dodge reduction and some of the worst sprint cost in the game. They're highly reliant on Special into Heavy Attack, and their light attack combos do less single target damage than the Mk VII Tactical Axe. The uncharged H1 into H2 combo has worse damage and knockback than the Indignatus Crusher.

They need the following:
Both hammers are given innate 15% Rending on all attacks.
Crucis gains innate 30% Rending on charged attack.
Ironhelm generates minor damage AoE shockwave (2m radius) after charged attack
Charge-up parries, just like the Relic Blade.
Increase base damage vs. everything of all light attacks for both hammers by 15%.
Reduce stagger after Heavy Special Attack by 50%.

Branx might by S for the one-shot capability + Crunch & Thrust for bosses. I find that (like most slow weapons) it's too easy to get stuffed if you have retarded teamies that say, keep poking a Captain for 5,000 damage when your super H1 hits for 15k, or getting tailcucked by a Burgle right before your attack lands. I put it in A because it's more specialized than the Karsolas. YMMV.

Mk I Sapper Shovel is great for crowd stagger, but dogshit for everything else. It's at most B-tier, but I think C is more reasonable. Dunno 'bout the other two. Not confident enough in my use with them to guess.
