yeah he's 100% right on the cool spirit heroes all being movement-based, meaning spirit itself is kinda dogshit because it's not spirit itself that's the fun part, it's the movement. without it you just have dynamo which are all automatic fuck huge abilities at the press of a button + a phase out blink. this wouldn't be a problem if not for the vast mayority of the cast being this way, there's a reason people have been complaining about aoe nade spam filler abilities since a year ago.
ideally they should be looking to make kits that can be outplayed by the universal systems themselves or have some sort of counterplay plan on them but when you're just porting dota kits like they love to be doing that's simply just not going to happen. if you wanna see just how bad this problem is try to play vyper without spirit res and then do the same but without bullet res, and see in which one you don't inmediately eat shit.

I've actually been going almost full gun. I haven't played since may and have an express shot build with lots of bullet resist. For most people you can just charge into them and blow their face off kind of like a reverse Roadhog when overwatch first dropped. People will parry while you just keep shooting. This game is gonna become dogshit if they listen to the spirit whiners, the real problem with gun vs spirit is certain gun carries are also extremely strong early game, leading to an unbalanced mess. Spirit should rule early and somewhat mid game, it shouldn't be buffed too hard or endgame fights are just gonna become cancerous 100-0 fights, most abilities are also low skill expression which means it'll be even more frustrating.

If you think you build bullet resist for her you are shitlow, spirit resist is fine and if she is fucking you with your ult that bad even disarming hex, warp stone, and various other items work fine just pick one you're going to get the most value out of. Counterspell was likely recommended because it's a very versatile item and is good in many situations. Is Wraith strong? Yes. Is there counterplay? Yes, plenty, if you think otherwise you are just stubborn, shit at the game, and don't want to stray from your build.

The ascot is gone, the anchor looks to have just been replaced by a grapnel and the winch is way smaller and looks less like a bit of repurposed ship equipment, he's lost like a third of his ropes. But the worst part is, they emphasized his musculature not just by making it literally bigger but also by cutting back on the shirt and turning it into a tanktop - but then removed the tattoo sleeves. Even if their goal was to just out and out get rid of his shipyard design cues, it's fucking character design 101 that the more exposed skin on a character, the more visual interest you should be ADDING to that skin, not taking away.

That's a difference without distinction, pure semantics. They act as disjoints, an ability parry would in practice also be a disjoint. Reflecting the spell after the parry or negating it and stealing it so you can cast it against your enemy would make it something more than just a simple disjoint/counterspell on a stick.

just played my first game in awhile and holy shit. this game really is dead isn't it. filler text for champions, one of the ugliest item pages I've ever soon, and for whatever reason the camera is super zoomed in on the champions.

Also all the items cost more now and bunch of high level items still don't have anything that builds into them. Soul Orbs are still a thing. I refuse to believe more then 10k people play this game.

It’s up to 400hp. Up to 16% ability range. Up to 328 souls per minute. It doesn’t really give you a lot for the cost but you have to get it very early to make it useful, but rather than helping with snowballing it’s more of an investment that can maybe pay itself off if the game goes late enough and you can get a bunch of kills and assists. But actually 16 k/a is a lot, since it’s not retroactive. Theres no guarantee lane success translates to mid game. What hero besides lash even wants this?

Lash doesn't even want it. The timing on taking it comes right as he needs to be hitting his peak relevance - mid game, when early roaming and picks gives his team a solid soul and objective lead. If he isn't grabbing core stuff like his t3 mobility item(s) and a t4 damage item quickly enough, it's likely he's just going to be irrelevant for the entire game.

I'm not even sure Mo wants it. Maybe in actual organized play but in pubs he basically has the same problem as Lash, his best time to shine is in mid when Combo picks have the most impact, and while Combo doesn't need to be damaging, he does need a few mobility and utility items up quickly to enable them if he can't rely on teammates planning and helping set up his grab, and Trophy Hunter puts him behind schedule.
