old players making new accounts for 'free gems' making the best meta deck and going to ladder with it
old returning players get deranked all the way down to rookie if they've AFK'd for like 2 or 3 months, they'll still have their old decks and good cards, and probably even came back to make the new best meta deck anyways

Its probably still not very good but cards like this are actually slowly getting more playable. Hitting a Link Decoder with this denies a fair bit of material. In the past the value would be too low but the game keeps speeding up to where denying someone link material for a turn so you can shit out your own 1 card combo isn't terrible.

Apollousa is absolutely going away after the ignister support drops, accode might be a omni negate, but it's the shittier negate because it pretty much stops you from doing anything right after summoning it.

In both paper formats Ryzeal was stronger but Maliss lasted longer. Maliss stayed playable as a top 5 deck way into future sets while Ryzeal disappeared pretty quick.

It's a bit inconsistent and could use a proper one card starter but it's not nearly as bad as you make it sound. Most combinations of two different cards will get you there.

The deck still struggles into almost any handtrap on Selettrice, you have to open 3 separate Vaalmonica cards to play through that. With just two you end on SP or Moon into Fiendsmith. Popping Dimonno before Invitare just leads to having 2 level 4 bodies for Bagooska and popping it after they pend leaves them 3 bodies including a light fiend.
That's for going first, going second Vaalmonica just has to win on it's non-engine. Pretty much any competent endboard should be able to fire interruptions blindly and win.

The main thing is that all the cards(aside from scale+other scale) that you run at 3 are full combo with each other so even though you do need 2 cards, it's not like you're digging for any two specific cards. Most combinations work. Even a bunch of the cards you don't run at 3 work together like Versare+either scale or field, or all the ways you can use Disarmonia.
But you will absolutely have 4 handcraps+1 card sharter moments with the deck that are extremely frustrating and then after shutting down their turn with the hand traps you draw another and then they combo off.

I wouldn't personally want to try getting the deck to max rank but it's fun for events. People were bringing it to max rank when it released versus what, Fire King Snake Eye? It's not like it's a non-functioning deck.
It's just a huge shame the last wave of support was entirely worthless.

Yeah I've stopped playing it on ranked for now since it has a horrible Ryzeal matchup. It's a shame how it's the worst VASM deck. The last wave of support was really odd too, I run the counter trap since if you get an uninterrupted 3 card combo I like searching it instead of Disarmonia to add back the regular trap, but it's not that good without some way to get a consistent extra search.

What's extra dumb is how the soft once per turns do it far more elegantly with "Once per turn(quick effect):". Making hard once per turn into a keyword is one of the few cases where I think it would make cards easier to digest for everyone.
