Each new story section gives one, though I'm not sure if there's anything amazingly useful. If you're really hurting on stamina it's best to save up to max out McQueen asap, after that it doesn't matter too much.
Also a borrowed MLB Creek+MLB McQueen will probably be good enough for most umas, usually you don't need more than like 800 or so unless they're going long.

Stacking as much stamina as possible is mostly a CM thing where most people are running debuffers and you can get really fucked if you're not prepared for it. For normal races and TT you're better off reaching the minimum and adding an extra ~100ish for good measure.

If you're having trouble getting to those requirements while also getting high speed it's not a huge deal, they're just listing the optimal amounts for each race type, just work for as much stamina as you can while making sure you get gold recoveries.

It's actually not as bad as BOFA because one of it's conditions is that the race has been in progress for over 5 seconds, which means you're going to get most of the recovery even if it triggers as soon as it can because a lot of stamina is used at the start.
The issue with Calm and Collected is that it has a positional conditional at the most hectic point of the race. it has "phase_random" which means it's going to check to activate the skill even if you fail the other conditions. In CM you need to be in 4th or better at the point it checks if it can activate so you can literally just lose the chance to use it depending on how fucked the early race is.

Very rough estimate but you get 30 from dailies plus 70 in total from login bonuses every week, so that's 40 a day meaning ~1200 per month. If you're let's say in a A rank club (1500) and retain class 5 every week (~600 a month), both of which are very doable, that's 22 pulls. I guess the other big monthly thing for carats is the cm but don't really know how reliable that is, you get 500 just from participating the the graded league I think though so you can add those
