16 years later and still the greatest. Unlike Owlkek games which treat romances as completely separate events in regards to a character's own personal quests (Wenduag is probably the most egregious example of this) her romance actually has narrative consequence AND has a satsifying conclusion. Shame what happened to the IP though.

I always play turn based because if I played real time I would have to save scum and rest after every handful of fights like the rest of you faggots.

I'm trying to play Pillars of Eternity but the combat just feels...cheap? I'm coming off of the Pathfinder games where combat has big meaty sound effects. Spells and weapons sound like they do damage. But in Pillars it just feels weak like the weapons are made out of aluminum.

It's amazing how underrail was made by one guy and raised the bar of turn based combat into the stratosphere but instead of trying to copy and or improve upon it companies stagnated even harder when it cones to desginin6turn based combat.

Has anyone figured out the exact behavior of the AI that determines which enemy things will try to attack in WotR? It's not always "what it sees first", not "what it can hit easily" and not always "what it can perform a full attack on".

no, AI in Pathfinder games is shit
its usually the closest NPC, but even then its not 100% accurate
its a conversion from a pen and paper system that just doesnt translate and it fucking suck as a videogame, thats why taunting enemies is never actually really effective
and if theres a cutscene in the middle of the fight, then the MC will be the main target
you can just turn all your other characters but the tank invisible, and thats usually a meta strategy

I mean there's always some underlying pattern, right? Nobody has come up with a program that sufficient trial and error can't unravel in its patterns.
I just haven't played the game enough yet so I get confused as fuck when I see demons who used to be content smashing away at a 20-to hit tank for 6 rounds only suddenly realise they can and should attack something they can hit SOMETIMES, so I never know for sure if bringing in my more specialised melee damage dealers is safe or not.

Shield Wall would be nice if it scaled with shield focus, greater shield focus, mythic shield focus and shield mastery all together made the shielding ally add the entire bonus from shield to the ally, so your paladin mc could have valerie or galfrey following him around shielding him from harm by taking all those feats.

The puzzles themselves are okay but they do a terrible job of explaining what exactly you're supposed to be doing or looking at. Once you read a basic instruction guide online then it makes sense and you can do all of them on your own, but even then it fucking sucks to find one and not have the pieces you need for it. I don't want to go back, and I hate carrying around a ton of shit in my inventory on the off chance I run into one.

You need to remind yourself that it is an axis, not a binary toggle. There is of course nothing to really indicate this in game mechanics, two characters of lawful alignment are ostensibly the same.
