Add solo-only queue.

most of my matches result in me sitting in a lane catching waves that are coming to my walker from about 10 minutes to 20 minutes. and if I step up to their walker, 3 people instantly respond before I can get a shot off, but nobody ever responds if they step up to my walker.
am I doing something wrong or do I just need to pick a better duelist to punish them 1v1? or do I need to stop defending and go fuck around with my team?

Even then, if you're losing hard enough people will usually tell you to not even bother and just focus on damage for the 1% chance that you'll actually manage to kill the enemy and make a comeback.

I don't understand why you are being disingenuous. I want the game to succeed but the matchmaking is objectively terrible. Matches are 30 minutes long, new players are being matched with experienced players, do you really think the game will retain players let alone grow like this? Valve clearly wants people to play the game but they fail to address the issues that make people leave. It is genuinely concerning for the future of the game, and just dismissing or ignoring it is condemning deadlock to a slow death

unfortunately, the only thing you can do when this happens is to have map awareness of where the fed person is so you can safely try to farm up faster than them
learn box/statue routes, learn how sinner sacrifices work, learn the camp spawn timers, and (the hard part) coordinate with your team when the fed person is out-of-position/in your jungle and try to 3v1/4v1 them for their unsecured souls
bonus if it forces a larger fight, but you eliminate them early and it leads to a fight you win (if you're at a man advantage and win the fight, immediately go do midboss, especially if its past 20min, it will win you the game or put them at an objectively worse position)

Had a Billy/Mina lane today against Warden and Infernus and it genuinely felt unwinnable. Mina just straight up gave up and went to farm jungle as soon as the camps spawned, leaving me alone in lane against two people, we lost the walker by 8 minutes and then the game

i am legitimately trying to level with you. i didn't call you a pissbaby. i specifically said "if this is you", if it isn't, great. no one is saying the game is easy.
as for game length, yes, it's a problem, especially at lower ranks (and by lower ranks, i specifically mean "below phantom" which is pretty high all things considered)
coordination solves this, but you need a mic and confidence to try and shot call if you're soloq or you need friends, which not everyone has.
i can't do anything directly to change the game though, neither can you, but you can give feedback. if you think your feedback has merit, submit it on the website/discord. they listen. if they changed ivy's model 4 fucking times due to feedback, they're listening to almost everything that comes in.

i usually play dynamo/ivy and the game is miserable from start to finish regardless of whether i win or not. Vyper was fun but the constant sliding is extremely fatiguing and her clear is totally trash compared to dynamo stomp spam

If you actually push lanes you're legitimately doing better than 60% of the playerbase, its just a question of knowing when to do it. Dynamo should be around for fights when his ult is up, but you might as well shove side lanes nobody is bothering to when its on CD. Ivy is extremely good at doing both, you can push waves deep into enemy territory and ult to make it to the teamfight on time, basically doing both roles.

Here's why the matchmaking sometimes feels like it is broken, when it isn't:
This game requires wildly different skills, that are acquired by playing in very different playerbases. Aiming from FPS, game sense and decision-making from moba, movement from arena FPS (TF2, quake etc.), the unique RPS around melee and parries, adapting your build and flexible item choices to each situation and matches, positioning in teamfights, optimizing your time and farming rotations, teamplay, and more.
The lower in skill you go down, the higher the chances of you seeing a player with great aim and movement, but who makes terrible decision-making and doesn't understand moba logic. Or to fight someone you roll over in lane, who can barely shoot at you and misses their spells, but somehow comes back mid to late game, and becomes an actual threat because of good moba fundamentals.
People have heterogeneous skills and weaknesses, the lower in skill and rank you go. So they seem way more skilled, or way less, because some skill discrepancy is more oblivious than others at any point in the game. But that doesn't mean the matchmaking is broken.

The way I play him, you basically just have to outlast someone in a fight and be able to recover. Start off with resto shot, monster rounds, healing rite and then titanic rounds. Once there, trophy collector asap until cultist sacrifice, escalating rounds, heal nova, and finally siphon bullets. I've experimented based on the game from there on but usually get lucky shot and leech after it, sometimes toxic bullets, colossus and/or juggernaut.

I've also mucked around with basically the same build but add in slow bullets and mystic slow, so that they can't get away from you and you play more of a hunter. It's inefficient though, much better to just chunk people with your alt fire when they get close, lucky shot procs 1/4 of the time so it's fine.

a REALLY important thing to know with pocket is your 1 is REALLY REALLY REALLY fucking good.

when starting the cast of it you maintain ALL horizontal momentum so you can swing off a zip line, dash, 1 and land them on an enemy to collect your global damage amp. I personally like to buy the tier 1 expansion item and imbue it on that just to guarantee I get my amp.
practice your nuke combo in the practice range there different combos for different situations.
casting your 2 and taking your 2 also detonates your satchel. you can use this to combo very quickly.
watch some Eido videos on his pocket to see how a real high elo player plays him.

As someone that plays her as support I found the tether sharing fleetfoot thing pretty neat. Like you gotta admit giving half your team fleetfoot on a CD is sorta neat for chasing potential. Personally I think these things need to happen
1) bring her melee damage up what everyone else has
2) nerf her ROF to 13.0 bullets per second
3) buff her bullet damage to 5.0
this brings her melee back in line with others and brings her DPS upto 65 like it used to be
Giving her kudzu T3 some interesting effect like turning it into pitlord's pit of malice and churning some of that damage bonus into the ability just scaling better would feel pretty good. Slight CD reduction would feel great too so kudzu are more lined up with incoming waves. 33 -> 30s. Stoneform needs its old duration back. The healing nerfs were acceptable. Ult could do with just a touch of extra silence duration. 3 -> 3.5s.
