I haven't played in like a literal year, decayed to fucking ritualist and I actually have no idea how to carry in this game anymore.
If you have a shitty lane partner the game is suddenly unplayable and you're already on a massive disadvantage, god forbid if your other lanes are also losing because the game might as well be over.


I have several people going 1/9 in 14 minutes every game while my Ivy lane partner is diving their tower with 20% hp against two people at full hp and I just have to watch it happen and deal with it.
I try to urn whenever but often have to bail because they don't move react or do anything but farm badly and brool while behind.
Can't gank lanes because they don't react.
Can't farm because jungle is omega nerfed and there's hard fed Lash/Mina/Haze/Abrams/Doorman destroying anyone attempting to do anything anywhere.
And can't even say "well the enemy team is also gonna have those" because somehow I'm constantly getting people that are playing the game for the first time while the enemy team has people one/two ranks above us filled with faggots that have played nonstop.


At least with solo lane you were able to get a big lead if you were better than the enemy, now you're fully at the mercy of the state mandated lane partner and their retarded room temp IQ plays.

TOP WAYS TO BE USEFUL BESIDES CLEARING WAVE OR GETTING KILLS:

- Be a walking warning shot. If you position near a teammate of prey, enemies will be more cautious about chasing or jumping them. You don't need to get a kill to prevent a death.

- Steal resources. Take enemy vaults, and camps if possible. This slows down enemy soul ramping.

- Bait, Bluff and Distract. You can pretend to run urn without actually running it. This often forces 2+ enemies to play defense and specifically wait on your signal. Then you can just hold urn while your team pushes lanes or farms.

- Track enemy locations. If you see 5+ on the map, call it, tell your teammates what lanes are empty or short on reinforcements. Play commander.

- Track enemy builds. Identify counter items (antiheal, curse, slow hex, shred). Request item purchases from teammates.

Somebody in a thread yesterday asked if Dota 2 was harder than Deadlock, the answer would've been no if they left in last-hitting.
Otherwise I can't think of a more difficult moba-style game where aim, movement, map awareness and builds are vitally important

All these have literally been pro/top rank staples since day 1 of invite alpha with haze being the only exception where it's kinda shit early (as these characters should), instead Infernus/wraith are fucking lane bullies while having great teamfight, splitpush, escape, farming AND they scale like no one else.
Infernus has been SSS tier since march of 2024.
At the same time completely braindead shit like Abrams has been like 53+ winrate on every single rank on every single patch without fail because the absolutely overloaded mess that is his entire kit.

I know all these things.
I was ascendant/almost eternus on deadlock before and I got there doing all these things, I've played this game extensively.


But now that I came back I'm in nigga low ranks and this is happening almost every game, for some unholy reason the game is now taking normal games into account for rank so I'm not only getting fucked by the decay but I'm getting fucked by games from 1 year ago of me trying out weird shit and fucking around and trying out other heroes because it was normals and it's now directly affecting every single game I play.
If I get a half decent lane partner that actually reacts and at least doesn't die as I'm perma poking/killing the lane then the game is completely free and I hard carry, if I don't it's an uphill struggle where I have to patch a leaking hole and when I manage to save that mess and fix the hole, 2 more pop up somewhere else in the map.

You will, but more often you're just going to recieve no response at all. I've shotcalled most of my matches from archon up to ascendant, and 60% of your teammates will always just be nonresponsive. 10-20% of your teammates will actively despise you for communication, and they'll give you shit for making calls instead of also contributing dead silence.

But importantly, 30-40% of your teammates will either comm back or they will silently listen. These people are what get you out of emissary. 2 players looking out for eachother can completely run a server. If you just have 1-2 teammates who more often than not have your best interests in mind, you will come ahead with a positive winrate. Every few dozen games you'll meet a sperg who thinks every call you make is an act of defiance against their right to exist and they'll tell you to uninstall, stop queueing, give up. Middle path. Most "core" builds of mine are 6-8 items with more the variability being around order of purchase. Does help, especially in the late game, to build counters. If you play hybrid (spirit and gun) then you can build around whatever resistances they have or whatever your dumb guide your teammates are following. When you say "every time you go into a lane" do you mean in the lanning phase, the mid game, all game? Because the answer to your question is different based on that. You say they are shooting you from double your range but that's pretty unlikely unless you're like a shotgun character against Mirage but that's something of a matchup issue so it would help if we knew what characters you've been playing. What are you doing when this happens? Are you insisting on fighting and losing the trades? Are you trying to farm but just can't because of the harassment? There's no stat on the score board for how many times your Dynamo saved your ass with his teleport. There's no stat on the scoreboard for how many times Abrams held an absurd 1v3 and made space for his teammates to take a walker. On top of that if you are staying back all the time to play for your K/D that might actually be losing you games. A mistake I see a lot of bad players making is obsessing over their K/D so much they just leave winnable fights or don't push objectives. Doing this and going 5/1/5 while you lose does not make you good. You need to do all the stuff you mentioned and then you need to do the most important part, you need to use and press your advantage. If you fail to do that when you're ahead none of the other shit matters. Ultimately the best way to see if someone's play is leading to their team winning, is looking at how much they're winning. I promise you anon, it's not your teammates. Any Eternus player dropped into your rank would rise extremely quickly. If you deserve to rise in rank, you will start winning more than you are losing.

I just checked statlocker and the winrates seem to line up with exactly what I just typed too with the only hero in the 54 percent win club at high ranks that I didn't mention being Mo and Krill. To silence ability dependent characters. Geist who is low and looking to swap. Lash that jumped out of position because he plans to use his 2nd jump to get back. Pocket that did the same thing and plans to get out with his cape. Yamato that's low and probably going to ult. You don't have to save it for these situations though, in fact, try to use it often as it builds stacks for itself. Also some heroes have abilities that might actually be better to turn off at the start of a fight, like Kelvin with dome.
