Is anyone able to get in? When I start up the client, its UI is set up for a controller even if I don't have one plugged in. If I click the text boxes with the mouse, they disappear forever and I have to relaunch it. When I put in all my info, it just says "couldn't create account or sign in" and then just sits there until I close and reopen it.

game's fun. darius is cute as expected. freemium progression seems UNGODLY slow. it also doesn't feel that different from how i remember alpha 1 playing (didn't get alpha 2). it feels like i waited a year for no reason when i could've just been playing this shit the entire time.
i really truly hope that they add characters at a decent speed. if they could manage like 6 per year, that would be a HUGE boost of goodwill, considering every other big fg right now is giving absolutely glacial releases.

This may sound obvious, but think of them as simultaneous actions - in other words, if you have a sequence which would normally be vulnerable in some way, assists can cover the gap.
Imagine a pressure sequence that ends in a negative on block or even punishable move, if you time an assist correctly they can add active frames where you would otherwise be punished.

If you can move your fingers across a stick layout to do all the shit this game asks of you you can also do a motion input. It's just bizarre, DBFZ already even solved this by having motions but simply removing all the harder ones and only leaving 236/214 (and 22 which is the one slip up). There has never been a "good for online" stage, just poor people who can't run the game on their pc. If you drop frames on a specific stage then you will drop frames on all stages when there are bigger particle effects and supers going on. My rank is irrelevent. A bad player in league won't know they are bad as they get to push buttons, get kills, win matches with their team etc. A bad player in a fighting game can barely get to push a button, the difference feels substantial.
2XKO does give them something to do as it has lots of new players and autocombos that make it so that a new player can push some buttons and learn some stuff so there is hope but idk if there is much if any ranking for their beta lobby system. The difference is it's unclear to a new player how they would improve without going outside the game whereas in league you can see and learn small basic things and always be improving as it's more intuitive than frame data and combos

No there will be two people in a lane who can't last hit retard, last hitting still wouldn't make you "good". These two people can still play the game together and actually do stuff and also get help from their team.
Playing a game where you suck and your only focus would be last hitting is actually something you can do, sure you might lose focus on other aspects and take more poke damage or miss a real kill you would have gotten if you weren't focusing on this but it's still engaging and something you can intuit from playing a bunch of fun matches beforehand. The equivalent to last hitting in a fighting game doesn't exist. Maybe it would be blocking and knowing when it's your turn but frame data is not intuitive especially in a tag fighter and if you fuck it up you just die.
