I'll say it, I like the VN sprites. They can do more with it but as someone who's dabbled in VNs myself the lip flaps, expression set, and blinking are nice detailing in the format. A breath loop (with tasteful jiggle) for the base body and a pupil layer so they can look at each other are the two things that would elevate it even higher. I'd like the 3D models to still be utilized and with more closeups too, but for talking scenes VN with VA has sold me. Expanding the sprite system and bringing it to new side content and interactions will really grow the game. I'd also suggest they separate the body layer/compartmentalize it for live2D from costumes instead of drawing new base bodies every time they want a seasonal event/costume sale. even if everything continues to be done in whatever VN engine they settled on (which is working well, the guy doing the movement, fade, and slide transitions is cooking) as a layered doll it'll help them in the long run.

I do prefer the use of 3D models. But their VN style was not that bad.

Yeah so stella is a hard tiaona counter. enemy placement was middle back row, so didn't even attack her directly but between a quick ult and splash damage the enemy tiaona ulted with almost no shield then got cut down recharging and she proceeded to cut down everyone else in a quick fight. Could be a fluke but that was pretty solid performance out of a bone stock 4/4/4 unit with only a few pieces of lv0 T9 gear

To be honest it's kind of odd that most ancestors aren't exactly useful, or just have niche uses. You'd think they'd be overly powerful considering the difficulty in acquiring them. Limine and Agares are pretty much useless, Noah, Hati, and Seth, have niche uses depending on team composition or game mode, and based on the units you have Ami has already been overshadowed. Quinn already booted heri in most cases. Really the only MUST HAVE ancestor is obviously T.Aiona.

15-8 being beatable without the super unit by just leveling is a good thing, as is the super unit skipping 2 months of fucking around (as long as they make more of them) Ancestors need to either be buffed or for their rate to be increased, I'd consider only noah, set and tiaona to be good and tiaona obviously is in her own tier. Our Doro being acapella also makes ancestor rarity even less justified. Thati and Tami being midtier is really underpowered.

grim. That boss fucking sucks in every way possible. the others must have been just instant team wipe for anyone to want to fight that laggy hitbox chasing shit instead. The bosses in S&B pre tiaona were very level dependent on if you could get 9/9 or would just get killed from full health at 7/9 every yime until you added 10k gearscore but they at least are well designed and mercifully short.

Before T Aiona the bosses were putting up a respectable challenge. If I was half-assing it Clive would wipe me easily. But if I was optimizing my rotations, making sure to target his sword and careful not to get swarmed by his minions I could make it to 7/8.

After I got her, I just pop her ult alongside F Bella/Acapella/Sirene and shit was over before he even got his second phase.

I have never even needed to properly fight the final tier of bosses. Just do my rotations and claim my rewards. Pyrrhic victory.

Mausoleum is better than the nikke gauntlet mode, the boss gear grind is tedious for the same reasons but better because we can win easier. I like the challenge of actually needing to use unit placement and "tactics" to defeat the campaign underpowered a lot more than "wait until you have more gearscore" like nikke devolved into. Tiaona would be as bad as everything else if modes just killed you on sight with exponential 10000% damage taken if you're 10.000001% in the red like nikke was for most of it's 3 years live.

until you pull any new SSRs I'd suggest using Tiaona, Acapella, jestel, aiona, and lamia in the wildcard spot. Jestel as a tank you'll replace with quinn or bella ultimately and aiona for healer gets replaced with starry eyed aiona or set. If you draw stella i'd replace lamia with her. I'd suggest opening resource boxes whenever you get walled. Forward progression makes up the difference in payout; if I had all the boxes past lv160 to get "more" I'd be significantly behind in actual progression and time. getting to 160 opening all my mats when I needed levels took about ~3 banners/1.5 months for me and with the selectors and rotating dupe shop it's easy to get your 5 with most of them being units you're using. It's a pretty comfy game all things considered. There is a multi chapter boat arc that is a borderline Berserk shitpost right at the leveling slowdown, but the story gets very interesting right after and tianoa should hard carry you through all of it.

The writing for this event feels rather... shonen, for the lack of a better word. The crew just get dumped onto Captain Ami's ship and there is more exposition regarding the characters understanding that the ship is flying rather then questioning the concept of the "other side", people falling from the sky, and the existence of a dubiously named mastermind.

I appreciate that the pacing is brisk compared to the typically elongated prose of Chinese media. This just feels like everyone is rolling with the punches and is rather uncanny.

It's like blue archive but with positioning mechanics alongside the drop on target abilities. Instead of running down a corridor enemies come to you. It works pretty well with the nikke leveling. Above clear power you can auto things, at deficit (which you can push as high as 25% with the most meta units) you have to position your characters and use their abilities properly.

I got no yuribait vibes from both of them interacting at all, but the character relations in this event seems to have been rushed or ignored. Noah and Piera got no chance to talk and Stella didn't have a chance to try and reach out to Noah's gang. Also positive Stella's Albrecht wasn't supposed to die off screen because there are sprites for him so there seems to have be a story rewrite or it got chopped up and condensed.

stella might be the 2nd highest dps in the game at the moment, albrecht is like a gigapoverty fbella because % attack damage is meaningless to the deficit. There is a reason he's the free login unit. The next clan hunt seems entirely structured around having a stella too. Pull a stella, collect a free albrecht, use stella to win pvps against aiona, dump albrecht in the C team with your van helsing.
