He's good at both, but he's also outclassed at both. As a hard rushdown character, he has good pressure, but he doesn't have a throw bait and has to rely on an metered fireball to attempt to bypass neutral. As a hard zoner, his projectiles can be easily exploited since evasive maneuvers force him to wait for them to leave the screen.

He's a multirole pressure character like Venom that has a greater emphasis on Stinger Aim, trades many balls with one exploding ball, and trades Dark Angel's ace in the hole for faster buttons and a decent metered reversal. The real surprise is he is able to do so much while keeping a 5f jab.

You use the command dash when you know your opponent is going to block, like with a grenade set or after a button to end his blockstring. The light flashbang is his safe on block ender, and is often used with the grenade for frame advantage. The medium is a low - self explanatory. The heavy is a DP and is used after hit confirming for juggles. The unique jump is used as a way to steal your turn back with plus frames if it's blocked. That's why it's so slow.
