In fact Tekken 8 tried to take steps against it, this series had an entire system which existed exclusively to put an arbitrary reaction check on every player who tried to learn it (throws) and became a non factor at high skill levels, had lots of strings with zero purpose other than knowledge checking somebody (like junkyard). If anything the biggest philosophy change from Tekken is removing all these legacy knowledge checks by adding a legitimate mixup option, hence why every fucking string now has safe high unsafe mid extension shit.
