You know how after beating a boss or reaching those checkpoints you get a choice to temporarily leave? Do that and then open any Basin stage. Enter one and wait until you can play your card. You don't need 2costs on others at all, Aquila/Overpower/Upper Slash/Absolute and sometimes epiphanied Rally (and non-epiphanied rally can also tutor 2s if you have your vultures) honestly work fine. Just running a strong DPS is good regardless of who it is.

you need to do all those things to get first time rewards (e.g. 5 standard pulls are locked behind having 6 partners at level 50, etc). All of those things are true if you're trying to accumulate the resources and power required to 3 star every dimensional twilight node within 4 more days, but other than that it doesn't matter.

Don't neglect the quests, they're most of your EXP until your late 30s.
Make sure to researchmaxx so you can get the 60 minute policy reduction and fourth pass.
Don't do Memory Fragment simulations for quests until Lv40, and once you do Zero you can craft and get better gear than the simulations anyways.
