I'm not sure as of yet because I'm using them mostly to clear the full stars of the stages.
I do feel they... how could I say. They are fast. Like an Anger of Horde team. The kunoichis are always outspeeding all my enemies, and then their attacks help build AP or trigger sequences.
I assume if there are too many sufficiently tanky enemy units everything would feel apart, but if you are fighting glass cannons and the clear need ''0 Hits'' or something like that, they certaintly would be capable.
My Shigen is level 1, I just put her there and that's it. She doesn't even have speed to act in the first turn due to that, and in the second she deals scratch damage, but in the second turn she starts first due to what I said before and her attack is followed by Enrai, killing off survivors. It's working already without investment. I assume they will be pretty good once I level her up.

I disagree on this since 3D anime style can work (I played little GFL2 but Klukai was pretty hot so...). Though the ones I like in Horizon Walker are case by case.

The other main reason is that if some SS-ranked unit drops in the stage, a fast clear can net you over 300 runs in 3 hours. Meaning you could potentially max her in a single day.

I'd say it gets a normal maint every week, some sort of update every 2 to 3. This including multi-part events.
The translation patch used to take about a week, but the current one was super fast taking like 2 days. That said it feels different from the rest. I think the previous ones mixed the internal files intended for the Global version + MTL, but the current one seems to be full MTL. I can't describe why properly, it's just... seems like the UI has been translated differently. Some names are getting translated too when they shouldn't (like Poi being rewritten as ''Throw Away'' once a while).
Some users did note the patch has been malfunctioning. I'm not sure if the LO team has changed something in the internal files to cause that. At very least I haven't had such issue.

Further instructions: in my case I play via DMM (android does some other method so I have no idea).
But the site of Fanza and those things has an IP lock due to western fuckery.
So you need a VPN set to an asian country to download it. Once you have that and got Last Origin, you overwrite the files in the folders listed in discord with the patch.
You only will need VPN to open the game but once LO is open you will be able to close the VPN and keep playing. Though you will need to overwrite it again every time there is a maintenance.

I decided to finally see if I can just rip the music from the game. Turns out it's actually pretty easy. Go to AppData>LocalLow>Unity>PiG Corporation_LastOrigin_R and then temporarily move or copy the folders starting with "bgm" into some other folder. Then get AssetRipper and it's self explanatory from there, export all assets from the temp folder with all the folders.

So it's really complicated at first and I can only explain for PC cause I don't have an android phone but basically:
This game is in the DMM launcher, an application and site for japanese games and more ecchi or hentai ones. Unfortunately this has an IP block so nowadays you'd need a VPN to open it but after it's open you can close the VPN. Became kind of a routine for me.
Once getting the game installed, we overwrite 2 specific files with the english patch. It used to be better because we just had to flip a switch and change to the innate english files (indicating a global version) and filled the rest with MTL. But nowadays it's all MTL after all the drama.

You hold down on the screen or with your mouse in battles and it gives you 5x speed instead of 3x. 5x was supposed to be tied to purchasing the orca pass but is currently available for all users, no idea if theyll ban you for using but ive been using it while i can. 9-3 ex is a 5 round stage that you can get 30 seconds on now for example. I went out of my way to get 30 seconds on 9-3 ex for the red chips and high quality parts, Paradise 3-4 for resources and the green chips/smaller parts, ark 2-4 ex for origin dust and the chapter 13 stages to farm the new equipments and black river modules.
