Whichever your favorite unit(s) may be, chances are that Siggy's ring will benefit them greatly. Can't say the same about Ike's ring, for instance. Of course this still entails that most people who rolled for him don't care about Siggy as a character. But you don't need to be a meta slave to want a copy of Siggy. If you just want to give your favorite unit all the best stuff available, that's enough of a reason to chase after the blue canto guy.

For that reason, it is best on units who already have good mobility, and want more of it. Melee cavs or units with brutal tempest etc.

Edel is not good for SD, she scores low in Arena and any good AR-D should be able to handle an AoE spammer like her. But if you want to use a favorite with their best possible build, then you should go for it. It's all up to how you play the game and how much you like her.
If you do want to invest in her, I'd keep in mind that CYL is coming soon and brave units always release with a bunch of new inheritable skills, you might want to wait for that before making any inheritance decisions.

Alright, I pulled one Hapi/Connie duo and sparked another. Now the big question is: What should I do with the second copy? Should I merge? Or should I hand the fodder over to the actual Constance unit in the game?
The rub is that neither option has all that much utility. Getting rid of the duo's bane in a dump stat is pointless and - since Hapi is the lead - I'm not actually gunning for +10 here either. But my base Constance already got A/R Resound from me, which sadly has proven useless for dealing with the current tank meta, and I seriously doubt the marginal update provided by S/R Resound is going to change any of her match-ups at all.
So do I merge because foddering is even more pointless, and in order to honor Summer Constance despite her having been shortchanged? Or do I fodder just to give base Constance the latest toys as a matter of principle, even if those toys don't actually help her be more viable? Or wait and see how/if the CYL winners shake up the meta and decide then?

Was good at the beginning of the game, and still great now, despite it being largely the same as it was with no new tech for it other than making charging them faster. The literal only thing that makes old AoE units bad is that the may have trouble doing the literal 1 damage required to actually secure the kill.
