It seems like what they are going to do is to try to do is basically make something so compelling more companies would be interested in getting the license from Akatsuki Games and potentially making it into a Game itself. I can agree, I guess it's due to the whole copyright thing and it can not use original works. They can only make it adjacent to the work. So it might need another illustrator that can basically be similar to Shimadoriru and Komatsuzaki. I do hope they can do a Web Format justice, and make Neoneon much like Tribe Nine but with a whole Visual Novel bent like they have been saying.

Kodaka is absolutely right on this. I think this is what is hugely important about EOS and ending Live Service games. Is seeing them to completion whether that is a game to sell because the Live Service was successful for a long time, a Doujin Circle to bring back interest, or to allow it to come to a conclusion. It needs to be ended properly. A lot of Live Services need to do a better job by the fans and the creators for that.

Agreed, I think this also is an issue as well. Sometimes I feel like in the Gacha space, Japanese are too focused on fitting between standard lines due to IP Gacha that is Anime and Game based. But when it comes to original IP Gacha I wish we had more of that, Tribe Nine, Umamusume definitely feel like those types of things that feel like a lot of money, high degree of individuality and were heavily dependent on creators. It also felt really fresh because they were not always playing it safe in terms of storytelling, characters, but also the gameplay was sort of fresh as well and highly stylized aesthetic.

I just wish they were not so paranoid where they felt like they have to look exactly like Genshin Impact or Fortnite in design and play it safe.

That's my thought as well. I think nobody over there was believing in their minds it would end this early, not all of us, not the devs, not the director. It seemed very premature for Akatsuki to just cut everything when it did not work out. Usually from what I have heard in Japan usually they wait a year before saying they will cancel the Gacha or they will keep continuing it as they give a fixed amount of money per year on the game or up it depending on the money internally. If something last longer than 2-3 years it's usually safe. Umamusume being the case of that. It's why Tribe Nine's cancellation and EOS is unprecedented in the Gacha world and to creators of Tribe Nine and to all of us. Whoever the CEO is should be fired or replaced for making such an error like that.

Honestly I wonder if the game staying alive and me seething over the badge would've been a better timeline over the blueballing EoS which we got. I think I ended up using pulover's macro creator to macro the first 100 notes of that stage, it took about 12 hours of painstaking work and i still had 600 notes left to do. Never had a NEET like me felt such drive to fuck over the devs by beating it with a macro and gloating about it on /tng/.
I recall in the end they announced all events added would never go away in the roadmap, so really I stopped caring about the badge after that since it would be permanently attainable and not FOMO.

I feel like the rest here. I was interested due to Rui's designs, then I played the game and noticed Takeda's music, and the writing really was drawing me in heavily. Also count in the fact I am used to playing Action games like Oneechanbara, Devil May Cry, and even Senran Kagura it felt like it was unreal how a game could be that good.

I will say though for a Gacha like these to be successful it has to have great Artists to get people to come in and play the game, the rest is on the writing and dev team themselves to deliver.

I decided I'm gonna make a throwaway steam account so I can replay the first couple of chapters and make more webms like pic related without the text box of characters that weren't in chapter 3 and probably even some that were, because I sure wasn't playing it with the mindset that they were going to crash the game with no survivors. I am going miss the XB Matches and Action elements. It was extremely silly and gimmicky but I loved it.

I like the transitional animations for some of the poses, but it gets awkward trying to turn off the text box in time for the next character's line.

Same I like Rui's Character designs I wanted to roll for most of them. It was basically Danganronpa but as a Live Service. I will always feel bad because we will never see a Takeda, Rui team-up again for a Live Service. They are so good. Compare that to Umamusume, I still like the Characters and the Designs, but not as much as Rui designs.

Come to think of it, it was probably inevitable that the game would've gotten a Danganronpa collab if it had kept going. We were robbed of playable Gundham.

Thinking it over, would Tribe Nine work as a Single Player Live Service Game than a Gacha? I know everyone is hyping the news about "Ananta" but something I was thinking about was how Tribe Nine could have made money even without the Gacha system in place. It would be more of a Console Video Game with Live Service than a Mobile Game with Live Service.

Honestly I think perhaps that is what they were going for with XB and the various other aspects. But I think the problem is with the new management that came in possibly they were dreaming too big, they felt like they could compete with Mihoyo by having Pixelart worlds and really go all in on Animations and that would then generate hype and bring in so much money. They were not wrong thinking about it now, but I think Akatsuki Games way ahead of it's time on this as was the management. I think this is something China and Taiwan noticed and why they are trying this with Ananta and Duet Nights.

The reason why I mention that, is because if the end of Character Gacha exists, and it's more or less based on Cosmetics, Level Up Packs, Subscriptions tiers like 10$ for Basic, 15$ for Premium 25$ for Deluxe and Battle Passes. It would have made a lot of money out of the gate. I still think Tribe Nine could relaunch under that model and perhaps Akatsuki Games is going to think it over because this is an evolution of the Live Service model they just had bad execution to do something revolutionary and played it safe on monetization.

Granted you are correct, but Jun seemed like he enjoyed Saizo more than his typical popular roles. For example, Jun Fukuyama also voiced Hugo in Zenless Zone Zero around the time Saizo was about to release and I did not get Hugo because Fukuyama did not seem to care since it was just another "Do your Lelouch and Joker voice" the character to him. With Saizo, he actually seemed more excited for the character and was hoping people would enjoy them.
