No I don't really like it either despite Clefairy being one of my favorite Pokemon. The Dr. Slump turd on its head kills the design, it needed to be dark so that it actually looks like a beret or not look like the pink nippletumor that it does. I like to see the situation with her maid not as a sexual thing from Jacinthe's end, but purely as a display of power(and because she thinks it's funny). Having Lebanne go around publicly in the maid outfit sends a message: "this is what happens if you cross me". She's like the rich mean queen bee but with a scarier amount of power. It's a bitchy oujo version of silly bets like "if you lose you have to walk around in your underwear" "if you lose you have to do everything I say for a day".
There is a sense of childishness about her that I think adds another flavor to her cruelty. She always got her way and never truly grew. She probably had maids as a little girl and made them do embarrassing things, and they had to comply since she's the little lady of the house. She doesn't see her actions as cruel, she sees herself as always in the right and anyone who crosses her deserves the worst. Unless she faces true struggle, she is forever doomed to arrested development. And possibly Marie Antoinette's fate if her dream of Jacinthe City becomes a reality.

It's not really the same, the appeal is them being enemies and opposites. Corbeau/Harmony is for people who want a loving relationship. Corbeau/Jacinthe is for people who want them to hatefuck or be enemies-to-lovers or see Jacinthe dom him or whatever. There's the potential dynamic that comes from their backgrounds, personalities, and the fact that they don't get along, including Corbeau getting especially aggravated at her, more than he does with other trainers. He says he can't stand her and brings her up unprompted to compare himself to her. It's easy to assume they've had interactions before your character arrived in Lumiose.

But plenty of pokemon ships have spawned from nothing/next to nothing, and fans will make up a bunch of stories and relationships from the most barebones characters GF gives them, so there's no reason to be confused unless you're new.

I think she can be both an incorrigible princess and a deep/sympathetic character, although not the kind who's universally loved, moreso the tragic kind where she's still mean and messed up but you understand why she's that way. RPGs need character casts to make the world feel expansive and lived in. If there is a small amount of characters, it would feel a little empty. Gym Leaders were never meant to be characters that are important to the plot, they add to the world and gameplay by challenging you with specific challenges for you to comprehend the mechanics. Wanting every single character to be developed is more of an expectation people now have thanks to what Unova's games had to offer. It's why an XY sequel ended up having almost no XY characters

A good Pokemon game should at least have the rival friend group, champion and main antagonist fleshed out so we have a good story to chew on with these players. Since this game has no villains, I don't know if they really succeeded with most of the "antagonist" factions (Team Rust, Jett, Floette, fucking idk)
