I finally found a Dragonite under the tower, it was literally the last one of the random spawns I needed for my dex; is this decent for grinding? Should I give it an adamant mint?

I'm at about 600 battles and I'm honestly surprised at the battle requirement being what most people complain about. I feel like it's easy to get inevitably.

If anything what I don't get is why you need to catch 50 of each type. The type catching ones ask for WAY more than you'd need for any realistic scenario, even if you assume someone is going for the most they might reasonably want to do (full LIVING dex + multiple to maybe get one with good raw IVs maybe? etc.)

I'd understand if the game had ANY sort of system that promoted you catching multiple of the same Pokemon (chaining that gave rewards or shiny chance) or something, but nope. Once you've caught enough for the dex, even a living dex, there isn't anything like that, so you'd only ever catch more to specifically complete these requests for Mable. Which would be fine if the amounts were overkill by only a bit, but like, catch 50 Dragons? There are 19 in the whole game.

I got to A with my story Meganium, an alpha Meowstic-F, and third slot was either Mega Alpha T-Tar or Megal Absol. Meganium was a screensetter, then I just move to attacker and switch to Meowstic if I want to Psychic some Fighting type that would fuck my T-Tar or Absol or Thunderbolt a Gyarados

while catching a fennekin on the roof of area 18 I saw a blinking purple light outside the lumiose walls, very far from everything it was very distinct but lasted just about three seconds
playing on hardware so not an emulator glitch, would've taken a pic but I didn't expect it to suddenly vanish

Because Taunie has clearly established up to that point that they're self-centred and care more about being the one to save people than actually saving people. The meta reasoning of course being that the plot doesn't work if the MC goes into the tower. Running around the city catching pokemon, doing side quests, smashing mega crystals and scoping out Alphas to see if I can take them, catch them and farm them, honestly, there's so much to do I might need to scale back my plans on having 3 or 4 more teams to rotate between, even through I know I gotta, Raichu and Absol are starting to feel the pain of their limited movepools where as Blastoise, Delphox and Meganium are starting to feel the pain of trying to slug it out against type disadvantages hoping the low damage very fast move I have on them will help them strike a finishing blow before the opponent can fire off their supereffective move, I wish I had a Delphox's mega stone already, She'd of roasted that Skymory alive before it could do anything and my Dratini has finally become a Dragonite, she's strong as well but now I don't know exactly what role I want it in.

On top of that despite the money I have I've yet to find any clothes I like more than the default outfit same goes for the hairstyle really, then again I hardly ever move from the default outfit in these games.

Sorry for rambling it's midnight and I have been playing all day and am struggling not to do more, I wimped out on rising up the ranks too, I think my team is just not good for fighting actual people

Haven't seen any actual numbers but they're pretty clearly on timers, with rarer spawns usually having longer respawns. When I was looking for an alpha Larvitar the rare spawns took about twice as long to respawn compared to the "normal" spawns in zone 15.

As someone who just reached Rank D and was using Meagross, this doesn't work, everyone has garchomp or excadrill to buttfuck you and magically have more switch outs than you so you'll always be at a disadvantage and die.
Also it's bullshit how dig is 100% hit unless you use a counter move or switch.

Umbreon was my MVP, him and Gyarados are the only two Pokemon I never switched out after I got them at the start. Umbreon can pretty much solo anything that isn't Poison or Steel or a Rogue Mega.

The two Steel-types are there specifically to counter Poison-types which are everywhere and fuck over both Umbreon and Meganium. I used Lucario before Metagross and he did carry me far, I just preferred more bulk and attacking power.

Biggest spike in power with this team is Stone Edge since it's the only good rock move in the game and it's godlike, I spent ages filling my boxes with shitmons just to get enough Mabel points for it.

I usually saved mega for Gyarados since his mega is extremely strong and it gets rid of his crippling Rock and 4x Electric weakness.
