I literally quit right at the start of CD4, understood nothing about the junction system and spent the entire game trying to stay alive only for Abel to nuke me effortlessly, forcing me to figure how the junction system worked, destroyed Abel on the first try, then got to the final castle where they took away all abilities. I'll replay the game eventually, original or remaster? Also why.

Playing through this right now. Beat disc 1.

So far this game is incredibly boring. Disc 2 has had some harder bosses that would have wiped me had I not used those curagas, but knowing that there is nothing to look for in the game aside from GFs and those are usually found in important battles means I have nothing to look forward to for the entire game. The story really is just events that happen and that is not exciting or engaging.

It should've been the final fight of disc 3 to follow the pattern of discs ending in sorceress battles, but had to be awkwardly placed at the beginning of disc 4 due to size issues. So no this is not evidence of the "perfection" of disc 4.

Omega Weapon is always level 100 so leveling up is usefull against him (not in the PC/Remastered version though)

I autistically abolished the random rule worldwide through RNG manipulation once just to finally complete the QOC quest and honestly unless you're determined to see every card in game it's really not worth the effort. The later cards do make for stupid powerful item refinements but you can break the game into a thousand pieces in so many ways these are just extra icing on the cake. It's doable, but it's a pain in the ass.

And I encourage people to avoid the all rule. Opinions vary on this but some people will tell you that the all rule degenerates into the direct rule, which is just pure fucking cancer. I myself absolutely believe this because I've had it go from all to direct on me multiple times which could just be coincidence but I have NEVER had it go from diff to direct. If diff deteriorates it always changes to one, which isn't great but infinitely better than direct, which, again, is just the absolute fucking worst thing that can happen. Better to spread random than end up with the direct rule. And since you're most likely blowing people away and winning every hand by multiple points the diff rule ends up being very close to the all rule in terms of card acquisition with none of the liability. I routinely cleaned out people's entire hands with the diff rule and I go entire playthroughs without playing one hand under the direct rule. Just stick with the diff / one / back to diff cycle

I really like her design, it feels like a throwback to the NES era villains.

It would be pretty easy to actually generate new content for the pre-rendered Final Fantasy games using AI art + digital touch ups to make pre-rendered backgrounds. Yes, AI art is slop with errors, but it'd get someone 90% of the way there and they'd just have to touch up the errors in the image.

Is there anything I'm missing? You could even potentially commission basic sketches of the layout for a room, put it through an AI art generator, then touch up a bit instead of raw-dogging it just with prompts.
