>It feels good for a junior worker.
This is precisely the kind of person to which I was writing.
>>boss congratulating them on a job well done
>You lost me there and I agreed with everything previous.
Look, your father figure is shattered and spread out in the world. It is for all of us. Our earthly fathers will always be lacking in one regard or the other, so we are always searching for substitutes in the world, picking it up in different places.
I must add, that there are certain soul-crushing lines of work where you certainly are correct. If you're a line worker in a place which constantly reminds you of how replaceable you are, then certainly any validation might seem random, silly and at times even demeaning.
>Oh look, five days ago you did 3% better than you usually do in your role as an industrialized masturbator.
But if you're in a team where the others rely on you doing a good job, and none of your colleagues view you as an easily interchangeable part, then validation from a superior, especially if you're new, will most certainly fill you with a sense of identity and purpose.
So you can find a father figure (mentor) in the world, if you're in the right place. But you are also perfectly able to land i miserable pathological place where your hierarchy of existence is completely upside down of FUBAR, making you miserable every day.
TL;DR: Don't project your shitty McDonalds job onto the sense of belonging you get from a workplace that needs you.

Fuck off to your unexamined lives, faggots. You lack the rudimentary cognitive ability needed to even start examining these claims.
