To be completely honest, that's one big thing for me. I know it's not retro, but I'm one of the freaks that actually likes playing SFV, but one of my biggest pet peeves was the way V Trigger locked normal moves behind the system, like Cammy's spin knuckle. The Groove System or whatever it's called does that too, Cammy only has divekick on one, I think, and loses spin knuckle on the other, etc. That's really gay and annoying. But you're right, the roster is great. I would much rather have Guile over Charlie, but at least it isn't as bad as 3rd Strike. I looooove 3rd Strike, but I will forever hate it for not having the world warriors.
For what it's worth, I don't think not having V-ism is that big of a deal unless you're trying to be pro or something. I even see tournaments where people don't use it, from time to time. My main concern isn't even having to use V-ism, it's the fact that it won't let me use the default blue color with it. I always run default color because I prefer my character to look like the official art. Yes, I know it's autistic as fuck.
