Hey, no problem. pretty much the one big standout to me, when playing it. Well, I haven't checked all the available routes yet, but the ones I did didn't have a headscratcher like that.
And yeah, I did account for Zthullu being magic central. Even then I feel there's a big gap between... buildings kept together by magic and news portals, and the Abhidhar weirdness. Not in general usefulness and potential, since it's "just" overwhelming power, but certainly in immediate impact and potential danger.

What I'm saying is that if anyone doesn't expect some issues later, they probably haven't been paying attention. I actually think that if "bro you might want to get suspicious about Zuan and him maybe spiritually fucking your lost (on this route) friend and maybe grooming her into your replacement" was telegraphed any harder at times, it'd be actively distracting

By the way, I really enjoy the snake magic initiation sequence, as I'm a sucker for going way too far in pursuit if power/knowledge (I mean shit, I did Mr. Eaten storyline in Fallen London, and that hammers you over the head with being entirely pointless at every step)... but I'd say it could use more spice in the consequences. For one, none of the other characters react to the MC being more fucked up every time they come out of the academy, even though you hang with them afterwards. I know stuff isn't a priority compared to new content, but as we're talking feedback...
Descriptions of the consequences are fine, but as you have basically no time for anything but the Academy-Rest cycle, you don't get to FEEL how fucked up you got. External input might help.

Focus only on book 1 for now, sequelbaiters (except orcbro) don't write fast enough to deliver. But yes, book 2 is intended to carry over your stats and hundreds of variables for continuity. If we ever get to book 3 you'd play as your grandchild and even that would import stuff from your saves before going to book 4 where it returns to the original MC. This is all hypothetical, assume I am a hack and focus on the book we have now, it's not intended to have many cliffhangers and should be a satisfying ending if WW3 kicks off or I finally have that sweet, sweet heart attack.

Alright, I just finished it. The author cut out some of the most boring scenes, including every flashback and PoV, which fits the medium better. Although the prologue is still long, it's more compact than before. The downside is that interactions with our based grandpa were gutted hard. Perhaps some of it will be in the prince's route in the future update.
For anyone who doesn't know, there are supposed to be 3 routes: princess assisting queen Adelina, prince joining grandpa, and squire fighting with king Uriel.
I don't know yet how the checks will be in the future chapters, in the prologue you could fuck up maybe twice and that was due to picking a wrong decision if you got wrong flags.
For now, there is a reputation shop that allows you to increase nearly every stat, including faction reputation, stats, education and personality scores. In the old version, we had to pick up two personality archetypes and stick to them, now we can choose any response we like and it increases the score, presumably it will play out in the future given we can tweak it with the reputation shop.
Also, what I like about KaE is that characters actually treat you like a prince unlike some of the other games (looking at you Rhivenia). To conclude, it's better than it was and the author can build on it more without rewriting it again. May he not fuck it up.

I think older ones don't use AI - something like The Arcana, Originals (defunct), Romance Club, but all of them use freemium systems if they're free. I assume it's because the stat system was designed for the whole game and there's just not enough content to make use of higher stats for now, but it's silly that the game doesn't communicate to you at all that there's no point stacking a single stat higher than a given level. There are even achievements for getting a stat to 10 and unless it's been changed you can still level them further, for no benefit whatsoever.
I also found that I was so used to 4 being sufficient in 90% of cases that the couple of times there was a meaningful difference in having 5, it still wasn't communicated well unless you see the success.
