That just comes from a ck2 achievement and it's a play on "indo-greek", which is a purely archaeological name. It's such a soulless way to describe a long-dead culture, especially one that currently exists in your world. The Indo-Greeks didn't call themselves Indo-Greek. Paradox continued with it into ck3 because it's an easy way to ensure compatibility with every combination and so the AI can't fuck it up.
Think about which way your culture develops: does it remain a ruling class, retaining most of its traditions, their old language as a court language, treating their subjects like cattle (e.g. Qing, Ottomans)? Do they slowly incorporate local culture, language and religion into their own court (e.g. Persianate dynasties)? Or do they just start humping the locals to the point that they become indistinguishable from them apart from some loanwords and a few cultural influences (like the Norse tended to do irl: Normans, Gallowglass, Rus')?

So when I took away the territory of the Count of Falconcrest, I gave his daughters bishoprics, because the red one was a mage and the white one was a preistess and it felt appropiate to have his territory governed by his kin. I would never do this, when playing normal Crusader Kings II. There is no legitimacy mechanic. It doesn't matter that the new randomly generated rulers lack any legal claim to the land. You don't get rewarded for grooming distant family members of the previous ruler, except a -1% revolt risk, because they share the same local culture.

Some thoughts about Victoria 2 uncivilised nations:
Nejd suffers from being as relevant as a large town and can barely get 3000 men to stand in formation
Persia is easy to westernise but they are completely surrounded by more powerful nations. You do have a half-decent population to work with but you will likely struggle to become a truly great empire
Japan is very powerful from the get go and can easily westernise within 15 years and then go on to dominate East Asia. Almost certainly a shoe-in for top 5 great power

I was going to try China next but they look to be extremely overpowered when they westernise. Thinking about trying a western nation such as France. May your Victoria 2 runs be blessed with low infamy and high RGOs

You get the treasury regardless depending on your war contribution (which if you're strong will be 100% when you win the war before everyone else can get there).

You can also request crusades or redirect a crusade anywhere you like so its not much different from calling it yourself aside from the 2 year buildup period for the treasury.

Working as intended, as wiki states it all gets granted according to war participation. This also means tens of thousands of prestige and piety.

Even if you don't cheese it with overwhelming firepower winning before anyone else shows up, a decent kingdom's army can score 20-25% war contribution and get 5000 or so ducats. Make sure to check if any holy orders are available before the crusade starts.

War participation is a score based on how much you've contributed. If there's 100 rulers in the war but you do 90% of the work then you'll get 90% of the money. The current war participation scores are in a tooltip somewhere that you can find.
