And for those who can't tell, they're all the same picture. Look at the end of Existenz on the stage, the redhead (Lilith) outside the dream. The creator (1) surrounded by 12, 6 on each side. Lilith's wings, 6 on each side. It's the same image.

The "ghost dubbing" in GITS 2 innocence also comes to mind. Why wouldn't that be what this place is.

I got real close to waking up and could connect these things in mind easily, then got some sort of mind scrambling / wipe. Again.

Maybe something like that. I see it as similar to Haibane Renmei or Texhnolyze, the different parts of the soul depart at different times and for different reasons. It's interesting that the only one left the cube was the nonverbal autistic savant, and he walks into the light. Or returns to it perhaps, he was the only part of the soul that could leave. Cube 2 is interesting for different reasons, I didn't like the ending but w/e I "get it".

Have you seen Boogiepop Phantom? I heard someone say they saw subliminals in it and that it was full of symbolism. Also, in the 2nd episode, this boy gives around eating bad memories and trama that takes the form of spiritual/psychic/astral spiders and the like. They forget the bad thing after he eats them. Thought the spider aspect would interest you.

Boogiepop was recommended to me many times back in the day, but for some reason I never watched it. Same with Paranoia Agent. I only watched Haibane Renmei recently perhaps because it'd become highly relevant to me. Which is odd because I watched both Lain and Texhnolyze, and was quite fixated on them, so leaving Haibane on my hard drive unwatched for like 10 years is pretty weird.

I have not fully watched BP yet desu, I only saw a few episodes. Never watched SEL or the others except Paranoia Agent. I binged the whole thing in a night back in 2016 I think. Honestly do not remember much. But I love the OP and ED.

Blue Gender might be one you like given it has insectoids in it. Have not watched it myself tho. Also has a very blaring example of 8/11 predictive programing.
