imo physical health stuff is a form of magic, it's just that it's so foundational that our minds tend to parse it as something mundane. The gym is a ritual, changing diet & lifestyle is essentially casting spells on yourself. Perhaps it's possible just to think & get jacked - but I think for many magicians, they tend to be mind-dominated people already, so they'd be much better off taking the more "conventional" route (at least initially). I know for me working out is my primary grounding ritual, because otherwise I live mostly in abstractions.

That being said, I find the more I meditate the better I can intuitively sense exactly what foods I'm supposed to be eating, rather than relying on habit. Sometimes I use a gym workout to charge sigils. And if you're any good at channeling you could look into calling forth whatever virile archetype you feel connected to, get the spirit of Conan the Barbarian to hit the bench PR for you

0. Get more rest. 8 hours of sleep a day minimum. This is non-arguable - 8 hours a day is scientifically proven to improve gains, testosterone, strength, endurance, and overall health

1. Eat more meat. 1lb a day minimum

2. Eat more eggs. 2 eggs a day minimum, ideally 4-6

3. Get more sunlight. Open your blinds, go outside for a walk every fucking day. No excuses. You need Vitamin D. Additionally, take 10,000 IU vitamin D daily. The supplements still need sunlight to work, but you need less sunlight if you take supplements

4. Stop drinking alcohol. It kills your gains

5. Masturbate a maximum of once a week. Not one day a week, one orgasm per week

6. Stop consuming processed sugar. All of it. No excuses. Stop eating shitty foods, stop drinking energy drinks, stop drinking soda.

7. Stop consuming caffeine. Caffeine kills your gains, damages your digestive tract and thus lowers the nutrients and proteins gained from eating

8. Don't smoke. No weed, no tobacco, no stupid fucking zoomer pacifiers.

9. Look into high-intensity interval training. If you're on a treadmill, run at 6+ MPH for 60 seconds, and walk at 3 MPH for 60 seconds, for a total of 10 minutes. If you're a fat fuck and can't safely run, then walk briskly at 4 MPH for 3 minutes, and then walk slowly at 2 MPH for 3 minutes, for a total of 30 minutes.

10. Stop consuming seed oils. Replace your oils with butter, tallow (not lard) or clean olive oil as a last resort. Seed oils cause inflammation and reduce your bodies ability to heal itself, which slows down gains and testosterone production.

11. Exercise often. It's said that 250 hours of exercise will recomposite your body, and 1000 hours without exercise will make it soft. Exercising 1 hour a day, 5 days a week will make your body look different in one year. 2 hours a day, 5 days a week will take half a year. 8 hours a day, 5 days a week will take a month and a half. This is retarded advice. There are limits on the amount of useful exercise you can perform before exhausting yourself. Even people like Arnold used to do 3-day-a-week splits with rest days before getting really heavily into roiding.

There are more nuances to fitness than just doing an activity that isn't sitting for 8 hours a day. It can be tricky to untangle these nuances from the extremes frequently seen in public discourse - "you just need to do any kind of activity bro 8 hours of construction work will get u jacked bro" versus "you need to have perfect programming and dieting and cut out all sugar and fat and artificial substances and live in a monastery or you will NEVER make GAINS" and so on.
Your fitness depends on multiple modalities of training and conditioning. In plain language, this means you need to train your muscles for both strength and mobility or range of motion as well as training your cardiovascular system for both steady-state periods of activity (as in swimming or running several miles) and peak power output (as in sprinting).
Doing any kind of activity is better than sitting around, yes, but you need to do more than just walk around a bit during the day to reach something approaching an optimum state of fitness, or even to become something others might call "fit." Your example of laborers or construction workers being on their feet for 8 hours a day doesn't hold up, as anyone who has actually worked in construction could tell you - injuries, poor mobility, and poor cardiovascular health abound in the industry, despite its physically demanding nature (as compared to office work or whatever).
It's both faster in terms of total time spent per week and easier on your body in terms of recovery to just go to the gym for 1-2 hours a couple times a week and go for a couple runs on the other days. Compare spending 8 hours a day hauling concrete or some shit like you suggest - I know which one I'm choosing, lol.

Have only tried it a couple times, basically just staring at the sigil while doing sets (although in a lot of cases it'd be impractical to actually do this, so alternatively you could also have it in your pocket & visualize it in your mind). Something similar I've done is to have the sigil in my sock while I go for a run or when I go out dancing. At first I was concerned that this might be "disrespectful" to the sigil, but after remembering that Pisces is associated with the feet I feel like it'd be an effective magical method.

It's hard to say how effective any one particular charging method has been in terms of garnering results, because I usually don't charge the sigil until I've forgotten what it's supposed to be for.

some routines you can get away with going to the gym 5 days a week for example if your routine is a split where you target a muscle group a day with isolation exercises
whereas if you do a full body workout, typically you are only going 3 days a week

The idea with charging s sigil is to imbue it with psychic energy which is most effectively done during heightened emotional states. The old standby is masturbation but many us don't want to be doing that. Bringing the sigil to the gym is a novel method I haven't heard of before but absolutely should work and I'm going to try it myself. Another method I've heard of is bringing a sigil on a roller coaster.

I'm not even dogmatically into SR (I think there are benefits to it but some Anon's go really far down the rabbithole with it & try to turn it into a catch-all solution for everything), but I would generally agree w/ this - for many masturbation has a lot of bad/shameful energy associated with it, and they certainly wouldn't want that energy going into their sigil. On the flipside you have those for whom masturbation is this extremely casual mundane thing, so the actual amount of energy they'd be generating is highly questionable. For some it's an effective method but many have trouble hitting the sweet spot.

I actually got the idea for using exercise to charge sigils by going to raves when I was younger, and noticing how the intense physical exertion was great for inducing a trance state (even when totally sober). I figured the gym (and yoga, running etc) was a more holistic way of accessing that same state. I'm also a Pisces Sun Cancer Moon, but with Virgo Rising & Taurus Part of Fortune, so I think my default tendency is to be constantly looking for ways to bring all that spaced out energy back down to Earth

I would think so. I've had specific crystals, rocks, and small objects I would intentionally take with during certain experiences in order to soak up that energy (for instance a piece of labradorite I went on a 50km hike with, a fluorite crystal I took to music fesitvals, that sort of thing). Honestly that specifically isn't something I've explored in great depth, but I could picture, say, having the ring you charged during workouts being useful for calling upon strength, discipline, the energy of Mars etc. You can see something similar with professional athletes who often talk about some specific piece of clothing or an accessory that brings them luck.

Definitely. I've noticed a clear trajectory with raves where the initial hour might be mostly "normal" or ego consciousness, the second hour is really getting into it, hour three is "okay i'm getting bored, I want to go home", hour four is "i'm actually physically exhausted", and if you manage to push past that you get to some really interesting zones where the standard emotional/mental programming no longer really applies. Of course those numbers are just approximations.

Raves/dancing were a major theme for me in my early 20s, and it's something I'd like to get back to. I'm just a bit more cautious now, because it feels like a very explosive kind of energy, to be approached with a certain level of clarity

This is something I noticed even a decade ago - there'd be these guys (some gay some straight) who would call themselves shamans or healers but were mostly just trying to use party drugs for sex. And women as well who seemed to be doing some kind of sex magick thing. I'm not even a prude about this - I get that dancing can often have an energy very close to sex, and we've been doing night time group sex/dancing rituals for as long as we've been human (probably longer). But there's something distinctly clandestine & unhealthy feeling about how it tends to play out in modern contexts. That's always been my approach to this stuff. Magic for me isn't a negation of more mundane practice, but rather an augmentation of it. It's bringing about a desired change by whatever means necessary, and in some cases working directly at the physical level of reality feels like the fastest way to get a result.

I suspect that there are different paths to accessing magick. I've met homeless schizophrenics, drug addicts, big fat degenerates, and totally bipolar types who all came off like they were tuning into *something* (and by that I don't mean to suggest that ALL crazy people come off like they have magic ability, just some), but it's usually extremely chaotic & most of them don't come off like they're totally aware of what's going on. Then in the middle you have a lot of tragic/romantic artist archetypes who get to tune in to something at the expense of their normal lives slowly unravelling. Philip K Dick in his later years comes to mind. Or even a figure like Jack Kerouac (who I apparently share a decent amount of astrological similarities to) who afaik made no claims to channeling extra-dimensional entities, but still had this uncanny ability to enter a weird kind of elevated reality, a more adventurous version of reality, which he vividly captured in this way that comes off as totally effortless. But his own life slowly fell into shambles

Look at Mars in your natal chat - what sign/house it's in, any difficult or beneficial aspects with other planets, and how it might relate to where things are in the sky currently. This can give you some insight into how the masculine force might readily manifest for you, what assists it, and what might hinder it.

I for example am a 10th House Gemini Mars, squaring both my Sun & Rising (Pisces/Virgo). So how I might interpret this is that I often default to feeling like the smartest guy in the room in certain social situations (specifically things like work, school etc. Not so much with actual friends or like-minded peers). I take a lot of pride in my ability to gather information & see things clearly, I tend to react poorly when I feel like someone is trying to force a viewpoint onto me. My aggression usually manifests verbally. So with all that in mind, I feel like I honour the Mars energy most when I'm my own boss, when I draw my own conclusions on things, when I confidently defend my viewpoint, and when I engage in self-guided learning. I feel like I'm supressing the Mars instinct when I spend too much time concealing my true feelings or going with someone else's flow. I was a homeless hitchhiker for two years in my mid 20s (with some shorter stints before and after). Even if you're completely sober, the lifestyle does something to you psychologically. You get torn away from most of the default patterns of modern human existence. You're constantly on the move, with no distinction between inside/outside, mine/not-mine etc. Even if you're clean you're constantly surrounded by drug addicts & other outliers (schizos, self-proclaimed sorcerers, totally non-integrated racial minorities, people who claim to have been abducted by aliens or the government etc). Regularly sleep or food deprived. Frequently in a state of physical exhaustion from having to move around constantly. And people are constantly casting you in these archetypical roles - as a villain, as filth, as a romantic figure, as a helpless victim, or as some kind of visionary. I actually had some of the most success I've had with women during this period of my life, because I'd have certain kinds of very attractive young women (usually into new age stuff) seeking me out like I was Rasputin, wanting to listen to me talk, inviting me to stay with them etc. But it was also extremely chaotic - I remember walking down the streets in large cities feeling like everything was melting into radio static, like I was picking up on dozens of signals no one else could hear (similar to what Francis E Dec describes in some of his writings).

This is actually a topic I know a lot about and have worked with quite a bit. There's a lot of good stuff in this thread and a lot of bullshit, sometimes mixed within the same post. Its frustrating because somebody who doesnt know much about their own body and fitness wouldn't be able to tell it much from the rest of the other stuff

Going to the gym is spiritually bankrupt and will make you look like a fucking clown. I cant stand these losers walking around with invisible watermelons and a scowl on their face like they are legendary warriors. The natural body that exercises in nature and experiences reality will always be 100x more beautiful than the clown bodies that gym bros end up with. They always imbalance some part of their bodies and look ridiculous.
