This is something I've been thinking about recently, how these men and women who behave as if God exists but paradoxically choose to oppose him for the sake of material gain and power over the earth. It seems irrational at first, but I've realized something that is a bit horrible; God loves everyone. From Jeffery Dahmer to Mao Zedong to the Clintons. That means that they can be forgiven. As long as they sincerely apologize before the end of their lives, and considering their positions it isn't likely that their deaths would be sudden, they are still totally eligible for grace and an eternity in heaven. They can sin their entire lives, betray their people and all of humanity, commit the most morally reprehensible acts mankind is capable of behind closed doors. As long as they eventually come before God with a contrite heart, they Get In anyway. What do you make of this?

If this existence is meant to be a training ground for the virtue building of souls, then think of it in terms of weight training. Heavier load = harder life, lighter load = easier life.

The rulers of this earth don't want to ascend, they want to live here eternally in extreme luxury. So what do they do? They commit the most evil acts possible again and again, and as a result they keep reincarnating into the most powerful and wealthy positions. And since the top elites are relatively few in number compared to the general population, they're likely to keep reincarnating into the same families over and over and therefore are able to record and hold on to more generations of past-life memories than the average pleb who gets shuffled back into the whole deck each time.

There are only so many souls that exist, and if we want to believe there is no form of reincarnation and after we die, we die, that's finalized, that's our canon, no reasonable God that wants followers will abandon the unlucky in some "fire pit with sulfur scented candles".

Rather Hell is at the least a place where any sin and negative attributes your soul desires to cling to is burnt away (Like electroshock therapy but with a stream of emotion and even pain).

At the end you eventually are clean, and you go to your afterlife to sit and be content with sitting in a shitty cloud or plan out your next reincarnation, starting anew or building off a path you've chose to continue to tread.

But if we want to consider the entire concept of that hell is both for religions to rinse their hands of having to deal with purification by surrendering a soul and it's generated energy until they recover to a standard that meets the needed standards.

Or it's for those who can't fit to the conventional norm of common religions and rather follow a sub-atheist route.

Maybe you want to dwell in hell to learn from the mistakes of history, and or to fend for yourself, maybe submit to a fellow dweller and draft out a new religion. "Throw shit at the wall and see if it sticks", sort of thing.
