Yuko was sort of a side character. Nayuta is really the only "important" character that has died (for now, there's still the possibility of being pawned/reincarnating as another Control Devil). He's not really relying on character deaths as much as in P1.

Strictly speaking, what Darkness did was pretty unimpressive compared to Falling and even Aging, it's just that the cast in Part 2 is way stronger. But the tone is what mattered, Darkness didn't speak, he didn't wear clothes, everything he did was utterly chaotic. Looking back I do think Fakesaw was meant to be related to that guy. Or Fujimoto kept him open as one of the options. You had the burning car and a close-up on his face.
