I think 1:39 did it best. Not necessarily the ratio but the author's writing. The girls got exposure and expectation from men. It's enough to justify the existence of a man in every class while also having them become cunts either from arrogance or from the danger of rapist women. In turn you can have the MC cause them all to go crazy just from being a normal person.
1:2 and 1:5 are too close to reality and in turn cause a lot of possessiveness and competition, whereas in 1:39 there is enough of teaming among the rivalries (Satou's family are all up for helping each other and protecting him, as is the friendship among the guards and rivalry with the other classes).
The Ace Pilot in the Alien Empire also worked pretty nice with its ratio of 1:10. You had a bunch of unhinged girls like you'd expect of 1:39 and they had to keep each other in check due to that.
The 1:100 Male Idol story actually did that nicely in the beginning to the point the femcels had an anonymous imageboard worshipping the MC and how just a smile from him validated their existence, but later as more men were introduced with his friendship it strayed from that and focused too much on that and his business.
So, I think it's a range between 1:10 to 1:39 that works best. Enough men to keep some stuff casual and change the society around it.

Additional stories that this kinda work but not much of a focus include games like Blue Archive where every girl has screws loose but it's much more casual, Last Origin with the MC as the last human but the twist a bunch of bioroids actually pretend to like you in the beginning to gauge how trustworthy you truly are and SEQUEL series, where men became a minority due to same sex mana-based reproduction which fucked the world. Again like 1:39 it's more on the writing, hunting men is common, but the protagonist's party are all retarded women.
