People ignoring how destructive Homura, and to a much lesser extent, Madoka, are when it comes to themselves and each other really doesn't sit right with me. Homura is a incredibly mentally unwell person who needs, at the very least, more friends and to develop some form of self worth entirely divorced from Madoka. As long as Homura is the way she is her being around Madoka will just harm the both of them, as well as multiple other people.
The 'love' Homura has for Madoka isn't good for either of them and is primarily founded on a mix of Homura's self hatred and obsession, although i do believe that at the very least the love she has for Madoka goes far beyond that of the love most people have for the friends, the 'love' she has is still primarily founded on her own destructive tendencies, of which she is utterly beholden towards. Her larping as the devil after saving Madoka from the law of cycles in Rebellion goes to show this tendency of hers as well.
For the both of them i hope Homura learns to love herself, as long as she can't nothing good will come from the two of them being around each other
