The fact that nobody sensed his Reiatsu, but Ulquiorra's could be sensed, makes me think he may have been transcendent in that form. It starts getting messy though because Aizen and Ulqui both screwed around on that part. When I was first offered a movie set in hell, I thought, «Wait, haven't we done this in anime already?»
So I was a little surprised. But I learned that this film would portray hell in a completely new way — in a way that has never been shown in either anime or manga. And that excited me.

At the same time, I felt a strong sense of responsibility. If this is to be the first true depiction of hell in the universe «BLEACH», then it will need to be properly integrated into the BLEACH world. I worked with the film team on the design of the setting, chains and masks of the sinners and the concept of the plot. I even gave feedback on the characters' dialogue to make sure it matched their personalities. It was the most involved I've ever done in a BLEACH movie.

The plot involves characters from the manga's main storyline, such as the Vizards, and is closely related to Ichigo's inner world. In some ways, this film acts as the missing piece of the manga world. Here you will see a version of Ichigo's transformation that I did not show in the manga.

Work on this film made me realize how much Ichigo — has grown, especially in how he reacts when something important is taken away from him. His actions, expressions and thoughts are now completely different. He really matured. Watching how this unfolds, I thought: «Wow, Ichigo really grew up ». I think the audience will feel the same way.

This film, which was born thanks to the joint efforts of all participants, turned out to be something really worth watching. I hope you all enjoy this view of the unknown — in the version of BLEACH hell.

Where a normal soul would begin to hollowfy, physically manifesting the dark side of their soul, the transformation of hell hollows is instead based on the desires of their killer because of the intensity of this desire.
