It's up to you. We’ve had multiple successful SS events hosted by us for the past few years.
Although the average amount of people not receiving gifts is low, the risk still exists. Please be aware that your mileage will vary. However, we do provide a grinched protection program which allows people to send gifts to those who didn't receive anything at all... even after X-mas!

Yeah, after much consideration I think it's best if I only sign up for cards this year.
Moving country midway through the month makes me just a tad uneasy and I don't want to risk any delay ordering stuff at my new address.
I am generally much more of a gambler but when it comes to other people I take 100% responsability and don't want to put an anon's christmas at risk when they could have gotten someone else.

Even if I only do 2-3 cards I will give them my best and spoil my anons with local good stuff anyway!

I feel like my skill isn't up the par to do something really nice handmade, to be honest. And even if it still doubles down as the 25 bracket I'm sure people expect an anon to try doing something manual related to a character they like or series they included.
I do draw decently when I give it my all and so I think it's best I do that + spoil people with local food, it will surprise people that much more in good since they expect it less by cards.

But I'd like to learn to get more manual in the following year so I can try to do something nice in the handmade tier next /ss/!

That's not true. If you receive a gift that is way undervalued you should contact the santas and they will check the prices and assign you an anti-grinch. If we had a separate handmade tier, then we'd also need a definition of 'handmade', because thoughts on that differ a lot. By doing it this way they avoid getting emails from people that signed up for handmade and then received a custom printed mug - it only requires a little extra effort during the matching phase. A "handmade (but it's up to you if you actually make something yourself)" tier isn't too different from what we have now, I think.

I'm curious to see if the tier distributions have changed at all. I usually do the 125-150 tier, but am doing cards only this year because of the ever-changing shipping/tariff situation. AmiAmi only just recently resumed shipping to the US after a 2 month suspension, and they only offer two fairly slow shipping options, not to mention how backed up on orders they must be at this point. I considered doing handmade, but I don't really have any crafting skills so I chickened out, which I now regret.
