I do miss when Vox was sort of a mysterious character, back during the pilot years we had little cryptic glimpses of him, and in the show he comes across as a jilted ex. I would have preferred a deeper backstory between the two.

It's very bizarre, because everything about it was great, the vibe, the vague air of menace, Al's odd sense of morality...I really feel like Hazbin would have been better as some sort of horror black comedy instead of a musical, as much as I enjoy the musical aspect.

I think my primary concern is that there will be no real arc or end for Alastor. Going by the timeline, he gets bullied by Lucifer, then Rosie, then kidnapped by Vox so they don't really fight, then Charlie and Lucifer save the day? What will be the point of everything he goes through in that case?

I think his arc is about learning to genuinely care for someone.. so far he has no real genuine friendships. He and Charlie are both on a failure arc in S2 so my theory is that she's going to be his only friend. I really hope Lucifer stays the fuck away or gets hypno'd so he doesn't ruin the Alastor vs. Vox fight.

He's being relegated to a background character it seems. It's really sad, because I wanted to see his backstory. I wanted context as to WHY he wanted such power. Hell, I'd settle for 'muh racism' at this point. And I wanted to see his story come to a satisfactory conclusion, either by redemption or getting with Charlie, whatever.

IIRC Viv did say this is only part of Alastor's backstory. There's still more to come in S3. I'll try to find the interview~

It seems like Vox v Alastor is still a thing though? That whole grape scene especially seems like a setup for a bigger conflict between the two. Same with a bunch of scenes in s1. Then that spolier where Vox is asking for Alastor in S2. In fact Vox fighting the hotel seems like it could be a 'proxy war' with Alastor to an extent.

This, Charlie vs. Vox makes sense, but I need that manlet fuck to stop swooping in to save the day. He needs to get sidelined somehow because he's too broken that all tension is lost. Maybe Lute actually does stab the fucker to the point of incapacitating him.

Hopefully this is the case. Though to be fair, the Vees were going to have to be dealt with at some point. Perhaps season 2 simply gets them out of the way, and we will see more of the deer from season 3 onwards. The problem is that there's just too much going on in the show to give every character a satisfying amount of screentime.

Assuming he passed well enough as an 'Italian' or whatever, he probably would have been drafted. Poor baby deer, he would have been terrified, though perhaps that's where he gained his bloodlust. I wish I had elaborated on it more at the end of Camp Fawn.
