I think i liked the first two episodes because it was kind of exploring the existential dread of being trapped in a virtual world and there seemed to be some attempt to escape/understand the situation.

But it's the third episode now where they just talk about the doll being fake optimism and the rabbit being a fake jester.

Am I missing something? I don't feel as enthusiastic as the fandom seems to be. Is it because the characters have no sex appeal to me?

I didn't read it as her killing herself. She was just getting lost in the moment of being "free" from her self imposed limitations. Her silent breakdown that was interrupted by Pomni offering to close for her a few minutes earlier was probably the closest she's come to abstracting, however. Like to think that brief moment of Pomni just being there for her, to let her know that just being herself is "ok" allowed her to ditch the mania mask she was wearing and feel freedom, if only for a brief moment

Real spoilers for the next episode of this slop
There's no adventure in it. Jax's room is pink and over the top girly. He is a literally closeted troon who loathes his body and is only boastful about it and performatively macho as a mask. The main point of Zooble is to foreshadow and parallel Jax. Zooble is a tranny with similar issues but isn't a prick. Meanwhile Jax is an abusive asshole toward the others and especially the women as a coping mechanism because his avatar cannot be permanently changed. He hates wearing female clothes because it forces him to confront these emotions. He paradoxically craves friendship but these behaviors of wanting everyone to be as miserable as he is make him increasingly bitter and isolated. Kaufmo was the last person in the circus who liked him, and Jax still treated him horribly. Jax used his "keys" to convince Caine to make the fake exit doors, intending it as a "friendly" prank to troll Kaufmo. He wasn't trying to abstract him and silently carries a lot of guilt about it. Confiding this in Pomni, who he desperately wants to befriend, freaks her out and she tells everyone who agree this is the worst thing he has ever done, accident or not, and agree to no longer acknowledge his existence. Craving attention by nature, having burned all bridges and with no human relationships left, he decides there's nothing holding him back from becoming completely psychopathic. The end of ep 6 and the last few episodes become serialized and involve Jax manipulating Caine into creating exceptionally cruel and personal torture chambers and traps for each of the others intended to maximize their suffering. Episode 6 ends on a cliffhanger with Ragatha succumbing and abstracting almost immediately after having a major panic attack.

Zooble is treating him like a fellow human, and I think that's part of the reason she can get a reaction out of him so easily. Pomni has talked to Caine a few times like when she was the only one to speak up about the Canibal Butcher adventure, and even in this mostrecent episode she told him she liked the Spudsy's one. But that's where Pomni's interactions with Caine always end, she doesn't really interact with him or call to him the way Zooble does. It's pretty interesting.

This episode was a Lightning Round, so I don’t think any of the characters actually got whatever it was they had in mind when they made their suggestions. Imagine if you had a cool African safari hunting trip vacation on your bucket list for a while, and all of a sudden just after you got back from an extra hard day of work and you haven’t even sat down to dinner, an angel descends and says it’s gonna grant your wish and send you on that dream vacation, but then you only get to spend 30 seconds there before your friend says they’re bored and then you have to be transported to their dream of being in a detective noir film for the next two minutes, until your other friend says they want to go play softball. Maybe there is a suggestion in the box that they go to outer space, but if Caine put it in this episode it would’ve come off equally as lame as anything else they did.

And then keep in mind that apparently Caine has never taken any suggestions before just recently, so the majority of the suggestions in there are coming from characters that are burnt out on Caine’s wild adventure ideas. And all his ideas are stuff that probably make fun video games, but are terrible as lived day to day experiences.

It makes a little more sense if you assume the cast HAS talked about their past together before, because some of them have been around long enough that everyone who heard it (except Kinger) abstracted. If one character joins every, say, three yerars, and one character abstracts every three years, then that means the whole cast rotates every eighteen years or so. If the simulation has been running since the 90s or 2000s, then that means Kinger's the only one who's been around from the start.

That scene could've been done better though, if some of them showed familiarity with the others' pasts already, and went something like "Oh, you never told me that part" or "Wait, start from the beginning; Pomni's not heard this one." Jax's ego is clearly a coping mechanism for him. It's how he hides his true feelings. Ragatha had just broken his mask and he needed a way to slip it back on. What better way for Jax to do that than to insult others while putting yourself up on a pedestal?

It's hard to sum up in few words, but, it's how he's got these obviously selfish desires - he's abusive, self-centered, obsessed with always being in control, always wanting to be the center of attention, loud, abrasive - and yet he has these contrasting traits that aren't complimentary, and seem to fight for space in his mind. Look at how he talks about Gangle in the new episode; he's empathetic and thinking from her perspective. He's thinking "if I was her, would I be able to do X, Y, and Z? How could I do it? what would happiness mean to me?"

Then look at how he talks about Ragatha. He speaks about her with *frustrated* understanding, as if he totally gets why her habits are bad, and is infuriated she doesn't. He connects Zooble to stereotypes, he apparently knows (or at least believes) Gangle likes being hurt, and he's curious about Pomni. Really, genuinely curious, not just taking what she gives but asking for more. Yet this obviously empathetic, emotionally intelligent man - when put in a position where he's forced into action, like during the more violent, fast-paced adventures - hurts the same people he understands so well. He's obsessed with control, and power, and being seen in a certain way, and when he loses his grip on the situation, he lashes out. He's violent during adventures because he doesn't want to get hurt, and hurting others makes him feel in control. He's someone who understands others' weaknesses so well - is that why he's so scared of showing them his own?

I dislike boxing Jax in as "a jerk that secretly has a heart of gold" or as "a jerk with a heart of gold that's secretly just a jerk" - it's more complex than that. I guess what really fascinates me about Jax is that he's got so many conflicting traits that convey a genuine character. The Jax that hurts people isn't fake, neither is the Jax that understands people. They're both as real as one another, and they struggle to coexist.

I’m just bored AF. Kinger’s my fave even if he’s 100% responsible for everything, and I like all the other characters. It’s just that Ragatha’s abstraction makes the most sense to me and ties in to what I believe is the theme of this show which is getting to know the real you.

I do hope Ragatha gets to open up at least a little bit next episode so we can see what she’s really like. Given next episode is supposed to be Jax's, I think it would be nice if they opened up to each other since it would follow a lot of the themes from this episode and they are the only two characters that actively dislike each other mutually. I’m still under the impression that no one is going to abstract because that would go against the whole “learning to love a life of stagnation” idea behind the show and I think it would be a genuinely good subversion of what everyone expects out of a story like this

Why does it feel like pomni is capable of being so pissed off and enraged displaying extreme level of violence after multiple trauma that she would directly resist cain using his power on her somehow if she were to abstract, all eyes focused of her transformed state on Cain instead of being erratic.

For being the smallest and less experienced of the group she has some extreme resilience going on, she's deceptively adaptable and has talked back sometimes for someone who has had a bad streak of luck following her arrival. So I believe that the more she grew around the circus' wackiness she might fight back ruthlessly just to fuck Caine up after everything he put her and everyone through
