I THINK they will cap Ash at Lusamine scaling to the ultra beasts illuminating the entire ultra space and the outrageously outlierish infinite speed reactions.

And Yugi will probably just be given Yubel scaling and limited irl duel monster use with EH Neos speed scaling, just so he dies to the speed difference. With them saying that Pyramid of Light and Capsule Monsters dont count while they also give Ash the game lore scaling.

But really, Yugi should have this in the bag several times over via DSOD Higher dimensional prana/ GX Final duel infinite speed scaling, Infinite Obelisk clearly matching Necrozma's illuminating ultra space feat and surpassing it easily with Horiarthy and Knight of Destiny/ the dimensional difference between infinite 3D power and Yubel's 12 timeline merging low multiversal super poly power. (Some can argue that them using the term dimensions could just make Yugi 12D outerversal)

Not to mention that IRL Duel monster use is seen and used in... DM Season 3, 4, GX, Bond Beyond Time, Pyramid of Light, 5Ds and Capsule Monsters.

Yugi wins because he becomes vidya game tony stark and has an actual harem of magical girls along with other hot duel monster girls.

Also both characters go through several different versions of their "party".
And I haven't even brought up in game "lore". A lot of YGO cards have descriptions that are quite insane but have nothing to do with their appearance in the show.

Speed stat is busted and basically the only one that matters on a fundamental level because in the games, going first is such a major advantage that there's whole strategies to fuck over fast teams specifically with speed priority moves like protect, trick room or extremespeed. YGO has "instants" now with hand traps and Quick Spells have existed since like 2005 or before

Millenium items still hold real magic and in some cases the power of cards can manifest somewhat into the world but it wasn't as easy as calling out a monster's name and making it show up.
I only bring that up as an example where if we take the fights in canon Ash would have the advantage because his monsters are real all the time.
So for this battle to exist at all we have to make some compromises.
How many compromises tho? That's the tricky part.

I think another alternate option could be that Ash gets to use his pokemon's whole moveset and attacks in real time while Yugi has to draw cards and use them for them to have an effect and he doesn't just instant draw all 40 at once but paces them one by one at a reasonable pace. His monsters lack the moveset diversity of a Pokemon but he could make up for it with the spells and traps.
Traps could have a short delay to activate and you could apply anime BS logic to the match, a move like trap hole can normally kill any monster instantly but maybe it doesn't work vs a pokemon that flies because it's able to fly. That would give Ash some advantage and workaround vs some special cards which would make sense and apply the advantages of both worlds colliding.

No, Ash's Gengar nor can any Gengar devour souls. And DSOD Atem had achieve diety status by the since it's believed that pharoahs become gods after death. As for the powers Atem has casually shown, he can create illusions, Penalty games, the Ba/Ka magic system, and use the Mind Crush. Mind Crush does shatter someone's heart/soul and if they have any goodness in them then they'll have a shot at piecing their heart back together. Ash may be able to resist Mind Crush by virtue of being a god person. As for Penalty games, it's more than just the illusions Atem would make throughout Season 0. Marik showed that's it's possible to use Penalty games to make the damage that monsters deal real. The Millennium Puzzle is the strongest item, so Atem should be capable of everything Marik has done but to a larger scale. Hell, we see Atem stop an attack from Ra that was meant to kill Joey and Mai.

As for Ba/Ka, that magic system was part of a literal war game that the Pharaoh would play in Egypt. The monsters he would summon were real and can deal actual collateral damage. A major point in his fight against Thief King Bakura was that he had to lead him outside of the city to avoid getting innocents killed. Even if Ash can't adapt to the DM TCG, Atem is fully capable of adapting to a Pokemon battle since it's very similar to the fights and wars he would have in ancient Egypt.

As for DSOD, my memory's fuzzy about that one but Atem crossed the afterlife just to one shot the main villain, stripped him of his powers, and undid the effects of his reality warping. Then there's anime only shit where Atem can create forcefields to stop a high velocity flamethrower and can jump really high.

Yeah whenever I run the battle through AI it always has Ash win because of the hectic nature of the fight and I think it kinda makes sense. Yugi is gonna need to be drawing cards and throwing them down while Ash is just going to be relentlessly attack Yugi with 6 Pokémon yugi probably has better tech but the format of the fight is to fast and Yugi just gets killed before doing anything serious.

I hate when writers neglect the scale of large concepts, especially the concept of infinity.
It just irks me so much when a story is dealing with a universal threat and they keep referring to the universe as "the world". Or when they talk about saving lives and they use the words "thousands" or "millions", dont get me wrong, it's technically not wrong, but i feel like in s story where life on other planets is confirmed to exist, it would have more impact to use terminology like "billions" or even "trillions".

And then the concept of infinity, oh brother. I specifically get irritated when there's an infinite multiverse, because writers usually end up making it seem so finite.

One example I can give is invincible, an infinite multiverse exists in his story, but somehow he's the only good invincible??

Writers do this a lot where they'll create a variation of a character then stamp them as the only type of that character. Like no, in an infinite multiverse, there isnt just one genderbent version of a character, there are an INFINITE amount of that gender bent character, there isn't just ONE evil version of that character, there are an INFINITE amount of evil versions of that character, and sometimes, some of these variations intertwine. But writers just dont seem to get that.
