The amount of people who think this shit looked good or promising was baffling to me. A homestuck adaptation in 2025 is totally unnecessary and asked for by nobody, so if you're going out of your way to do it you might as well do it right.
I think Dave's face in this shot is emblematic of the whole problem with it. It's got that Hazbin stink, the way the mouth is shaped, the way the shades morph with the eyebrows/eyes.
I don't expect them to do a perfect recreation of Hussie's style, but come on. At least use some of the visual language in the original.
