Her appeal is her almost-redemption arc in A5A2. Those scenes where she talks to John about killing Tavros and then later when she's about to die and we read those texts where she asks John on a date are pure SEX. Peak homestuck. She's so close to improving, she just has to make it out of there and then... she dies. It makes sense, she was endangering everyone. She was just that bit too stuck in her old ways. Almost... home-stuck? And it forces Terezi to kill her. It's incredible. What a tragedy! and then Hussie ruined it by not only having her get worse as a ghost but also showing that if she doesn't die, she also doesn't improve. So I guess I take everything back I said >:/ but for that act, Vriska and her relation with John was pure writing gold
