MM9 was an amusing return-to-form for the series after a slew of poorly-received spiritual successors, but when 10 was announced with the exact same presentation, everyone immediately caught on that Capcom would milk this series with endless low-quality sequels if given the chance, and they weren't buying it anymore.
If MM10 had been a legitimate, high-quality evolution of the 2D Mega Man formula, I bet we'd still be getting new Classic games today. MM11 was a simple cash-in on the Mighty Number 9 hype and has been deservedly forgotten.
