I really hate this show.
It has a few scenes with good animation and then a thousand therapy sessions.
Is this really what kids like?

So we will realize they've all been Soma'd right? Think about it. The conceit of multiple (implied to be several dozen if the abstraction basement is an indication) grown adults suddenly disappearing while sitting in place playing VR is preposterous. Obviously people would go looking for them and rescue them and we have no indication that A. Technology is substantially different from our world. And B. That taking the headsets off will harm them physically. Another show with a similar premise is Sword Art Online, but they spend a silly amount of time explaining that VR is essentially a microwave strapped to your brain stem to show why they couldn't just take the headsets off without dying, but that hasn't even been gestured at even now more than halfway through the show. No, there isn't an escape for the group. Jax is right, but in an unhealthy and nihilistic way. The reason Caine refuses to keep NPCs around so he doesn't get confused is because there isn't really any ACTUAL difference between the NPCs and cast besides training data so Caine genuinely wouldn't be able to tell them apart after enough time.

This is correct while the colorful characters are appealing to young audiences there is no way this show is family friendly especially with the casual swearing like. Only a neglectful mother and father would allow kids to watch this. It's very obvious the core of the show is the characterization of these characters. Not cartoony antics like World of Gumball.

One thing worth mentioning is that young people HATE being given intentionally sanitized infantile media that is advertised as designed for them. This is why Bluey's biggest fanatics are the mothers and fathers. Kids quickly lose interest or never express interest. Anyway content that seems like its pushing the envelop will always attract young people.

I think people are overthinking this stuff, thats why Im not engaging in the talks as much. To me the premise is an explanation sufficient enough: its a digital circus, where magical things can happen. Sure, we might get some deepest lore in the next episodes (in 2026 lol), but just saying that kinger is crazy, and can do crazy things inside the circus to elevate the drama, is enough. They all are magical beings that function on magic, and simply by the power of their perception they can do things beyond rational thought.

Fair, I've loved Lizzie's performance since the beginning. I really enjoy the character she plays and it's always a joy to see her voice Pomni outside of the official work and one of the reasons I look forward to every episode is to hear her. Generally the entire voice cast is really good and the only complaint I've ever had is that Caine sounded a little phoned in during Untitled. Normally I don't really see any praise for the voice acting, but I think this time it was especially notable because Kovach fucking killed it.
