It makes sense to me that an early version of him would be able to use webcams and cameras to check into the real world. It's implied in episode 1 that he recreated the room with the computer that is actually hosting the simulation inside the fake exit, so he has obviously some knowledge of the outside, he just has no idea how to actually go there. He is way too weird and clueless about basic humans needs to have ever been one, and assuming he's an human who went insane and started to believe he was an AI feels a bit too convoluted. Plus, he is officially called a "Wacky AI" in the Glitch website, so lying about such a basic fact, even to set up a twist, feels cheap.

Either he remembers the early time when he was a state-of-the-art budding AI on its way to sentience and wondering why everyone simply left him there, or he's feeling more and more torn because on a deep level he can't ignore anymore that he is completely failing his prime directive of bringing happiness to his troops, and he's trying to understand what he's doing wrong because for him, nothing has changed since then. It's also possible he doesn't actually remember that time but still has the pictures in his memory, and he's trying to understand why these feel familiar to him despite being seemingly unrelated to the circus, perhaps to set him up for understanding the concept of "outside"

The most common theory is that Pomni wandered into an abandoned building (as she said she used to do, and as Zooble said she used to do too), found a VR headset and for some reason tried it on, almost immediatly being sent into the circus.

Because of the ending of the first episode with the focus put on a particular computer found in the fake exit most people assume the circus exists within a single server/hard drive/directory that you can only access in this building (if it was on the internet the place would be crawling with players), which is why comparatively few people found their way in

It's assumed that there's no skeleton around the headset otherwise someone would've warned the police and the whole thing would already be shut down, so maybe it's probable the "real person" walked away, unaware that their double was sent to live digitally.

That's just a theory and it's possible there's a major twist in here. Personally I don't expect to ever see the actual outside or real people, that would not look good no matter their budget. An ending where everyone live and escape to their bodies seem increasingly unlikely, although an ending where everyone (except maybe Pomni who MAY still be wearing the headset IRL and is just experiencing time way faster than normal) is condemned to stay forever in the circus until they wish to die feels very cruel, even if Caine gets his shit together and even fix the Abstracteds. Most likely we'll get an open ending where everyone ascends into the big light in the sky and it cuts right before we see where they're going.

Here's some tips

1. Write down your ideas. You don't need any structure or anything, just write down anything that seems interesting in anyway. Whether it be bits of dialogue, summaries of scenes that could happen, motivations/fears of the characters, shit like that.

2. WRITE A FUCKING OUTLINE! It doesn't need to be super detailed, but it should hit every major story beat and should go over what is happening, why it's happening, and how the characters are reacting to it and discussing it amongst themselves. You should be able to read the outline from start to finish and have everything make sense.

3. DO NOT, and I really feel I must repeat myself hear, DO NOT start writing the story until you have finished the outline with an ending to work towards. Have everything locked in as tightly as possible.

4. Just start writing. Don't stop. Once you hit the zen state, the words just fucking write themselves. If you hit a wall, take a break. Do some writing exercises. Open up notepad, and just fucking write a bunch of random bullshit that immediately comes to mind. After some time, come back to the story and continue writing.
