I think Exodia is a weird case. Death Battle puts characters at their peak as long as it fits within the lore. Logically speaking I think Yugi would not get Exodia because he loses it pretty early on in the show and the God cards make up for it. Besides, I think people see Exodia and just think it would be an auto-win for a Death Battle. If Ash and Yugi were strictly playing Duel Monsters then it would be, but I think Death Battle will look at whatever feats Exodia has and use that.

When it comes to Raiden, MGS4 is nothing but "anti feats" as you call them. Sure, he has the submarine thing, but that's after he had to cut his own arm off to get away from some rubble. His actual combat feats are taking down Gekkos and eating shit to Vamp while having way better stats and while Vamp had nothing but combat knives.
You fast forward to MGR and you're told, as a game mechanic, that Raiden can't cut through ceramics and heavy armor. This isn't an anti-feat, it's one of Metal Gear's meta game mechanics. His high ends in terms of speed are hopscotching on missiles, which Wolverine clearly wouldn't be able to do, and cutting apart Monsoon's projectile in frozen time, which is cinematic timing incarnate unless we assume Raiden can become one million times faster than normal at will, because that's a blade mode feat. Raiden couldn't stat check Vamp, I doubt he'd start with Wolverine. Especially after his blade gets cut in half by Wolverine's herald-cutting claws. Yeah I don't subscribe to multiversal herald tier, but they're still stronger than anything in MGR and Wolverine's most distinctive feature when fighting them is his ability to cut through their durability. By all means bring up Wolvernie losing to street-tiers. He could lose to MGS2 Raiden under similar circumstances for all I care, but not MGS4 and onward who doesn't have the combat feats to justify it.
