Bro's out here trying to play this game like it's WoW. Get rid of that mindset. It's VERY different.
You're not even "wrong" though, but all of that is part of the charm.

Yes, this game requires ungodly hours spent to get to late game, but this game is "AFKable". People aren't spending 5000 hours driving their characters around having to execute their rotations like WoW, they're AFK fishing, doing something else and just clicking the spot every 1 minute or whatever. People aren't joking when comparing this to an idle game.
But if you really want to, you can play super actively. It's a choice, and part of what people like about this game so much.
Also, unlike WoW, you don't have everything stacked at the end game. There is shit you can do at all stages of your account, and early/mid game is SOVLful as fuck.
