what's interesting to me about this is it kind of already IS her character. she's undeniably narcissistic, is shown to enjoy big social events, and is at the least classist enough to highly value her status and presumably elevating it. this take on Stella wouldn't even require rewriting her character, just... actually letting that character do things beyond show up and be mean. Make her in contrast to Stolas far more cold, serious and focused on prosperity of her family. Almost completely devoid of emotions and joy which can brought out, but it is very hard. Here is my way of tackling it. This happens after her and Moxxie watch a play that speaks of a Goetia who in pursuit of greater highs of pleasure ventured into human world and was punished by heaven for causing a massacre and they speak of then of human plays in comparison to hellish ones which often include real deaths of lower Hellborn and talk about more Hellish topics.

1) Both Stolas and Stella are just actually evil for more of the run of the show. They're demons, I LIKED evil pilot Stolas, he was fun. It gives him more to grow from and more of an actual arc.
2) Make them co-abusive. Make them already cheating on eachother and backstabbing constantly, but in a bougie "respectable" way. Maybe Stolas up until Blitzo never dated down, and THAT can be where the scandal and tension come from that make Stella want to kill him. We get little hints of this in the show, but it needs more than just "Stella is an evil bitch for being mean and Stolas can literally cheat on her and be correct for doing so". They BOTH have to be shitty people.

He is an incredibly brash and reckless kill and after doing some research we have discovered numerous sightings of him sloppily killing his targets. While he is unprofessional he should not be underestimated. Perhaps it is time to give this red gentleman a taste of his own medicine and show how real professionals do it?

Going to go Tolkein on this but my headcanon is that Hellborn aren't inherently evil. Demons being pure evil with no nuance in medieval to modern Christianity only works because all demons are fallen angels who made a choice to be there. Making them a species that has babies and free will kind of throws a wrench in that.
I think it's possible that Hellborn on average are more aggressive than humans and some definitely are born with sociopathic tendencies cough*Blitzo* but most of it is the environment set up by the sins who are evil.
