My S23 as of two weeks ago (bought in October) started losing charge fast, and I mean FAST. 30 mins of listening (no video) something with newpipe and BT headphones with a bit of lazy browsing and messaging -- minus 6%.
What gives? No new apps, didn't update it (still not on OneUI7), didn't change any settings I can think of, nothing. Most of the apps are in sleep/deep sleep.

I know this is the smartphone general but what tablets would you guys advise? I'm thinking about getting a tablet but it's difficult to decide on just one. I own an iPhone so the iPad is the no brainer option but there's some apps (particularly 4chan and piracy related ones) that are Android exclusive or just easier to sideload on Android.

I got an ipad pro 11" about a year and a half ago after using android ones for a couple of years -- got a killer (50% off, literally) deal. It's been nothing but frustration since. Especially with Safari. I don't know how it's possible, but there are bugs with it and this one obscure website called "youtube". And judging from some posts, it's been an issue for years now.
Idea to swap volume buttons once you rotate the tablet to match volume graphics is a supremely retarded one even by Apple standards.
And, as you mentioned, a lot of apps are just plain absent. What a waste of great (M2) hardware.
If I would do this over again, I would get something from Samsung, with OLED screen, DeX and optional keyboard. Or maybe something "gaming" from Lenovo or Redmagic -- they usually have a fuckhuge battery, good CPU that would last you a couple of years more and a high-refresh screen, which is rather nice to look at.

This is the sort of errors I get.
I'm on the latest version of a xiaomi.eu ROM for a poco x3 pro.
I know editing the metadata to make the installer app be google play or installing and reinstalling the apps works through google play works (probably so it makes that change to the metadata), but the problem started again after I ran sd maid, which presumably removed said metadata or like I said, by uninstalling google play updates.

It's not all apps that give me these errors, mostly apps I bought, but it does include some free apps and even free apps that had a play pass bonus from when I did the play pass trial. The offline error is what happens if I disable wifi and try to open these apps while offline, where some of them are definitely offline.

It really isn't. Phones are built with the "1 day battery" paradigm in mind. The idea is that you sleep at night, so you have at least 4-8 hours of downtime, per 24 hour period, that you can use to plug your phone in to charge. I've had my a52 5g for about 4 years now and it works just fine. Battery life is good too. I use it for normie shit. Looking up stuff online, scrolling tiktok on the shitter, social media, spotify on the go, taking pictures and video, calls, messages. Normie shit. I don't need a new phone but i'm kind of wondering if switching to a better phone is going to make a difference for me.

So snapdragon 6gen4 is fast as 7gen3

Both have identical cores config (720 520) and GPU but 6gen4 have lower freq on CPU.

Are Nothing truly that out of touch? I was preparing a response along the lines of "hey if it's 500-600 bucks or so it would be a decently premium sub-flagship device", think something like the Xiaomi 14T and 14T Pro, but apparently it's the same price as a base Galaxy S25 and significantly more expensive than a refurbished iPhone 15 Pro.

It even has a 3.5mm jack and SD card slot. You'd be sacrificing those with a new phone, any phone.
Unless the A52 is too slow or doesn't have a strong battery anymore you probably shouldn't upgrade. Sure, it's not up to date on Android versions, but that's not a huge dealbreaker considering 99% of apps still support as old as Android 11 and 12, and the major important apps still work on 8.1 and newer, some even on 6 (!!)

I noticed that Flexbooru from F-Droid doesn't load stuff from gelbooru anymore. gel must've changed something on their end, but since the app seems to be abandoned, I fear it will be permanently broken. Does anyone know what/why gel changed? I found another booru browser on F-Droid and that can't view gel either, but it was last updated 2 months ago, so if they need to change something for gel to work again it at least seems more likely they will.

I'm on Google Fi in the US with a Pixel 6a. I got zogged by having one with the fucked up battery. I'm going to have to get it replaced for free, they at least have the courtesy to fuck me softly.

It's left a bad taste in my mouth and I probably won't get another Pixel unless everything else is AIDs. Not looking to break the bank, just a phone for texting/web/music in car and photos/youtube occasionally

I was thinking an iPhone because I want something that just werks and has good battery life, but, the Liquid UI shit looks like the writing on the wall that Apple is also fucked at this point.

So what options do I have that aren't china-phones like Xiaomi. Samsung is one of the few phones "built" for Fi, but I haven't used a galaxy in years. Galaxy A55 looks alright?
