I made a fast api python thing where the endpoints map to a variety of Linux commands. It runs on some kind of smart fiber modem thing for this weird city wide vlan thing. Thing mostly interfaced with qemu and was for ISPs to use it as a hypervisor for their own software or something.

Engineering in IT varies between 180-350k based upon company and job location.
