What's the point of "degoogling" if they already have years worth of my data on everything?
Seems a bit futile.

My point is if google already knows that what's to be gained from degoogling?

It's funny that this is a genuinely valid question but not of the superbrains on this board can actually answer it in a way that makes sense, let alone actually had practical benefits to your daily life

Google & Microsoft let me have control over my data. I say, "delete my browsing history!" and the fine folks over there happily go in and delete all my browsing data. If only more tech companies followed this example. They respect my need for privacy. Thank you, Google. Thank you, Microsoft.

It doesn't matter if you haven't done it since birth, degoogling is a process that's better done now then later. what matters is that, eventually, most of the data gathered on you will become irrelevant through time. 5-10 years from now and most of the data could be worthless.

Consider the peace of mind in not being datamined and analyzed by a soulless megacorp. Google makes almost no effort to hide that they analyze your screen's contents (there's a setting buried deep in android that lets you disable this but the fact that it's even a thing, and enabled by default no less, is insanely creepy)

Why?

Because the data collected is aimed at who you are *now*, but in say 5 years after degoogling you could've moved, changed your browsing habits, changed devices, changed opinions/beliefs etc. My point is that google (or a third party data broker) won't be able to make accurate assessments about you anymore because you as a person change, while the data remains static. They'll know your birthday and name, sure, and also who you *were*, but other than that they'll be left in the dark.

Ok but what's the degoogling flowchart
