is the 2nd-gen keyboard even worth upgrading to? I have a launch FW13 and the trackpad isn't nearly as good as the newer revision on my friend's 13.
I just installed a BE200 on my 125H board but I'm thinking about switching to AMD and the BE200 doesn't work on those boards, does the RZ717 module have any issues in linux?
>thinkpad shitters got everything they asked for in a modular consumer-friendly modern laptop that could be done (minus the clit which is trademarked by Lenovo and could not realistically be added to the Framework) >they spit on it and reject it immediately for Chinovo slop, because... "uhhh I'm a retarded racist, the CEO is Indian" or something?
You can't find a "tech enthusiast" product that is a better representation both of sour grapes and the sunk cost fallacy

3:2 is perfect for a laptop, you want vertical screen space over horizontal.
Retards who still hang on to widescreen laptops are why this abortion exist.

Trackpoint is decades old, used by multiple manufacturers. There's no IP limitation. Framework itself said they weren't adding it because they weren't interested.
Given this, there's no reason to use a Framework laptop over even a modern Thinkpad. Realistically, parts availability will be much better for the Thinkpad anyway.

Just paint it grey and call it joystick.
Whatever patent Lenovo has on trackpoint already long expired anyway.

The trackpoint sucks dick, let's not kid ourselves.
The only reason it was ever a good peripheral was because of how shit touchpads used to be.
On my X230, yes I used the trackpoint and never touched the touchpad.
On my T14 Gen 5, the trackpoint was never used.
Having a haptic touchpad or physical buttons at the top of the touchpad is better than some meme ancient ass peripheral that no one will actually use.

I’m about to get a 7040 so please tell me why you’ve made this choice. Apparently the graphics on the ai 300’s are downgraded compared to last gen which bothered me.

I made that choice because I didn't like how dirty the refurb unit was.
I also didn't like the rounded corners on the 2.8K LCD, and the response times (ghosting) is bad enough where 120hz is wasted on the panel.
I would rather get the regular 60hz screen.

FRAMEWORK SOLDERS RAM ON THE DESKTOP
In case you forgot these asshole arent really right to repair or upgrade.
If they had integrity they would have told AMD to pound sand and get someone else to do it. but when did jeets ever have integrity?

I dunno what Nirav Patel was smoking, but I guess he really like ITX?
It makes zero business sense to sell a niche product on an already niche ITX market just because Lisa Su asked nicely

Still using my 11th gen intel i7 mobo, probably going to replace it with one of the AMD boards soon. Getting that coolermaster case to replace the 2012 MacMini I run my home plex and file server on. Love the FW.
