Think we're looking at different things. Power consumption by severs varies greatly by load. You are correct there's is a base load just to keep everything powered on. What I was getting at is that nuclear is fine for powering that base load but it's terrible for demand that peaks, which is what happens with data centers when servers are under load versus when they're idle waiting for work.

Like get two m/m audio extension cables, plug one end of one cable into the speaker port for one PC and the mic port for the other, then do the opposite with the other cable, then you can output sound directly from one PC to into another, and with some modulation you can send data.

Thats why food, real estate (the actual real estate not this speculative flipping shit), and manufacturing were the backbone of all societies. management is never transparent about any of this stupid shit, but they eliminated all timecarding bs and relied on project specific stuff for budgeting, but once the S174 rules kicked in, all of a sudden about half a year later, the finance team pushed out some new policies and a return to hour tracking. Technically you're right that it's not 100% certain S174 is the cause, but it seems kind of obvious.

also I'm glad most wagies have such simple timecards that they have one number to charge. mine has like 8+ entries and the tools require me to manually enter numbers and capitalization codes (which I copy and paste from my excel sheet) and some projects I work at are incompetently managed so I have to constantly fight them over charging and then they whine why shit doesn't work because I can't support them.

Takes 5 minutes at the end of each week to fill out your timesheet, and another 2 minutes to update project status.
You do keep notes of what you do each day for your own personal purposes, right?

These systems are for fixing inefficiencies. It weeds out the hopeless losers such as yourself and allows management to easily mark you for redundancy. If you can't do something as simple as fill out a timesheet and update project status without it taking 90 minutes each day, then you are dead weight and are most certainly also horribly inefficient at your actual job tasks.

I think I understand why midwit business suit types don't get why this is annoying. You spend all day doing no thinking at all and completing useless bureaucratic overhead work like this so it's natural for you. No "context switching" happens because you never enter a state of deep thought throughout your entire day.

But for us, those of us that actually do things, we enter states of deep thought. We are wrestling with other real problems, broken things, refactorings, designs. Forcing us to snap in and out of it constantly hurts productivity. Once again midwit businessfag narcissism is actually hurting the company and they don't even realize it.

Why do you have one directional relationships with management where there used to be two sided discourse and a genuine attempt to insulate engineers from product/business side nonsense for better productivity? Because jeets accept it all. They are stupid slaves that accept the tediousness. And if you don't, you will have your job sent there too. This is how tech becomes a caste system and how a once efficient, innovative industry turns into dogshit. It's been so jarring going from a company that still retained much of pre 2015 software culture, with good fluid engineer/PO/PM dynamics and a sensible amount of overhead, to the place I am now heavily jeeted, retardedly counterproductive, and everyone acts shocked when I tell the manager "no, that's fucking retarded, and we're fixing this process." The fakeness of the "industry" comes from that. It's easy to look at consoomer electronics and insist that the ENTIRE WORLD IS SOFTWARE but really outside of the office, it's all being driven by shit written in assembly 40 years ago. >how is this useful for assigning arbitrary points denoting complexity of a task?

if you're hesitating whether or not a task takes 3 or 5 points, it's probably leaning towards the pessimistic upper bound of 5. It's too hard to estimate complexity and uncertainty of larger tasks.

If you're going to estimate 4 story points on one task and 5 on an other, and maybe another task 3, you're estimate is going to be wrong and inconsistent as soon as you have some unforeseen problems.

Better to let the middle management monkey circus know a pessimistic upper bound instead of getting shit on because someone believes one can estimate complexity and uncertainty calculated hour per hour.

Hour-based granularity is impossible in software and immediately outs someone as an imposter who doesn't know what we actually do. There are many unknowns involved with any given task, it's never a copy paste job. I don't buy it. I want to see it implemented here (and not just for 2+), make it big and juicy like $7k deduction annually per child, and promote it. PROMOTE IT. In the US, we have bigger houses that allow for family rearing. The culture is more primed for parenting. I can already tell we're teetering on the edge of the backlash, where having kids is a status symbol, the women are going wild on social media about tradwife mommy status. All this powder keg would need is a spark like big tax deductions per child.

I find it much easier assigning 1 2 3 5 8 to tasks then if it were on a number scale of 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8. Kinda agree with you if you said it might as well be 1 2 4 8 16

there is a very loose correlation between number of children and wealth. Just look at all the poor people having a gorillion children. When sane people decide to bring a child into their life they don't consider their economic utility. 7k is nothing btw, even very young children a quite expensive.

In Hungary there are many more incentives to have children besides income tax deductions.
Moms with a degree gets their student debt canceled. Parents have access to subsidized mortgage plans up to 150k. If they have 3 children they get to forfeit 60k of that outright. Same with loans, 30k outright to anyone promising having 3 children in 5 years. Another 15k can be deducted from existing mortgages if you have 3 kids. There used to be a one time payment of 8k to a 7seater car if you have 3 kids no questions asked. +7 extra vacation days/year after 3 kids. Free books, meal plans etc in school. There are very comprehensive incentives yet people are not impregnating Hungarian qts en masse due to Hungary is not a very good place to live in for the vast majority of people

That’s why the nsdap put so much emphasis on lebenstrum (living space) and ‘revitalizing Germany’s spiritual core’ as well as had the desperation to engage in riskier things like eugenics.
And it did kind of work, before they blew themselves up in a World War again.

why do americans keep repeating this shit? PV panels are mostly glass, aluminium and plastic, and recycling them is basically a matter melting the glass.
americans also complain about lithium batteries... well, lithium is obtained in a process that consists of letting the lithium carbonate separate from salt by gravity. LiFePO4 batteries are made out of lithium and fucking iron.
meanwhile, murica pollutes everyone with their oil, shitty plastic products, processed/artificial/genetically modified "food" and additives, etc., etc.

why are americans so brainwashed and malicious?

it sounds like you havent actually read anything about this outside of pol. the issues would go far beyond just boomer pension ponzi schemes becoming insolvent.
whether the heroic gamble to save western countries by suddenly making >30% of the population first gen immigrants from low iq countries overnight is going to actually work is another discussion. but the problems are very real if they dont try it.

Sure thing!

1) Diversity is our strength.
2) Infinite growth is sustainable.
3) When 3/4 of your citizens are retired, this is a bad thing in almost every aspect.
4) Genetic diversity is a good thing -- especially when mixing european genes with 70 IQ populations.
5) Population collapse is bad because chin- I mean communists will escalate and steal all land and resources from the good guys (us!)

A deep enough pool of water could save you from nukes.
Water boils at 100C, which means that’s as hot as your pool would get.
Sure it might give you some nasty burns, but it sure beats the instant disintegration you’d get face tanking the blast wave.

still sounds like the sunken cost ponzi fallacy. Why should I care about productivity? What does it even mean besides numbers must go up? Lets face it, most jobs including ours are very much bullshit jobs, they exist for the sake of existing and keeping the drones busy. What is the productivity in working for years on a project which gets canceled before release? Implementing all the dystopian shit no one needs for rent seeking. Best allocation of capital and trickle down - not buying it.
